It is also important to test with a statistically significant sample size so you can make sound decisions on what path to move forward with. In manufacturing you need the solution to be repeatable and the process to be capable. Having alignment with quality engineering ensures that if the testing goes well you will have a quicker path to implementation. Without alignment you can end up repeating testing runs.
