Following up promptly is crucial in solidifying new connections made at networking events. It not only reinforces the initial interaction but also sets a professional tone that can lead to long-term relationships. By referencing specific topics discussed, you show attentiveness and genuine interest, which are key to building trust and rapport. This approach can significantly increase the likelihood of future collaborations and opportunities, as it demonstrates your reliability and proactive nature.

Relationships are like flowers and plants they need nurturing. Follow up with an email, a meet up, a comment on social media like LinkedIn etc. these are ways to keep the momentum and move the relationship forward. these are all important was of follow up

It's always so important to follow up quickly, whether that's through an email or on LinkedIn, to 'strike whilst the iron is hot' and whilst you're still (hopefully) on their mind. It also shows that you appreciated their time and also remember them! During this message, it's crucial to make it personalised though by noting something else that you spoke about rather than just a generic "it was great to meet you at X event" as that's not impactful. You can also assume that they met others who are also following up, so you need to make yourself stand out from the crowd.

Core ways of building relationships is by investing in it. Don’t just think about what they can do for you but what you can do for them. Be a nurturer , be genuine and that relationship will grow.

Facilitating introductions is one of my favorite parts of networking and relationship building. In my profession, that requires pairing retailers with lenders in providing the best level of service to the consumer. If done consistently for a length of time, we become known for our ability to connect, introduce, and support successful relationships.
