    This is the first feature in our Black History in Design series and we're starting off strong. 💪🏽 E. Simms Campbell, a pioneering figure in the world of illustration and design, made significant contributions to American visual culture throughout the early to mid-20th century. Born in 1906, Campbell defied racial barriers to become one of the first successful Black commercial illustrators in the United States. His work, characterized by vibrant colors, intricate detail, and a keen sense of humor, graced the pages of numerous national publications.
