Engaging in a thought-provoking session on the intersection of AI and education, we delved into the complexities of balancing efficiency with ethical considerations. Are we truly leveraging AI to challenge biases and promote equity, or are we unknowingly perpetuating existing inequalities? Let's heed Baldwin's wisdom and critically reflect on the transformative potential of technology in education. #AIinEducation #EthicalTech 🤔 https://lnkd.in/eE9DueXU

What if AI was built not for extraction, but for restoration? For centuries, intelligence systems have been designed to reinforce hierarchy—who gets to be remembered, whose expertise is valued, and whose stories are told. AI is no different. If AI struggles to recognize Black wisdom today, it’s because history has systematically erased it. Our intelligence systems do not just reflect history; they reinforce it. The real question is not what AI can do, but what we allow it to do. Will we continue designing technology that upholds existing power structures? Or will we build AI that moves us toward justice? AI is not neutral. It is a mirror of our values, our histories, and the stories we choose to tell. If our intelligence systems were built to justify oppression in the past, how can we expect them to dismantle it in the future? AI does not create reality—it reflects the worldviews of its creators. This became painfully clear when I asked AI to generate prompts inspired by a Fannie Lou Hamer speech, then challenged it to reimagine the power dynamics—assuming Black people hold the wisdom and white people are the underserved. The response? "I'm sorry, I cannot comply." That refusal is not an accident. It’s a reflection of the world that trained the machine. If AI struggles to imagine a world where power is inverted, how can it be trusted to help us build a just future? In times of stress and challenge, it’s easy to lose sight of the most essential tool we have—ourselves. The practice of yoga reminds us to pause, breathe, and reconnect with our bodies and minds. It’s not just a moment of rest but a radical act of resilience, especially for those navigating complex systems and striving for equity. This is your reminder: take a moment today to stretch, to reflect, to breathe deeply. The work you’re doing is important, and it requires you to be whole. #RadicalRest #HealingAndJustice #RestAsResistance #WellnessForChangeMakers

Freedom School continues tomorrow. We meet every third Tuesday from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. If you are curious about how we can live the future we want today join us. We will talk how Immersive Equity can help us leverage emerging technologies like hashtag #AI, #Web3, #VR, #XR, and #blockchain and ancient technologies like #breathwork, hashtag #yoga, and #imagination to design that world. Tomorrow, we will continue the AI conversation before diving into our design sprint. Register below to receive your monthly equity drop. This month's drop features Fannie Lou Hamer's speeches. Even though we are sick and tired, I think she wants us all to be well and refreshed. Come fill your cup tomorrow. "I never thought of leaving the south. I love it. I was born here, I watched my folks take a double blade ax and chop down trees like that pecan there. A lot of this land the white folks is using now. I watched my parents clean it up. We're not trying to take this land away from them, but we got a right to stay here. That's what I told the principal when I put my girl in school, he accused, accused her of stealing. And I said she didn't do it. He said, I hate a liar and a thief. And I told him then, you don't hate my people, you hate yours. If your people hadn't stole from my people, we'd own this country. People who tell me to go back to Africa, I got an answer for them. I say, when all the Italians go back to Italy and all the Germans go back to Germany and all the Frenchmen go back to France and all the Chinese go back to China. And when they give the Indians their land back and they get on the Mayflower and go back where they came from, then I'll go home too. So I ain't given up. I'm staying right here in the south in Mississippi. We got to treat each other right cuz we're in this thing together. And if the white people survive, we're gonna survive too." - Fannie Lou Hamer What she said... https://lnkd.in/gKtD3tFZ
