Congratulations to our resident 0399 Operations Chief, Stephen Hooper, on his promotion to Master Gunnery Sergeant. Over the past few years, the #Marine formerly known as "Top" Hooper has led, taught, and mentored the S-3 in the art and science of #CommandandControl, most recently running the regimental watch floor during the execution of #UNITAS25 in Chile. With bursting bombs come greater responsibilities. As he prepares to depart for his next assignment, Master Guns Hooper continues to prepare his Marines for their upcoming participation as the #MAGTF25 command element operations team during ITX 3-25. #Infantry #C2 #MasterGuns

Congratulations to the 25th Marine Regiment’s adjutant, Christianna Golden, J.D., on her promotion to Major. As with most United States Marine Corps occasions, promotion ceremonies are events rich in tradition. #USMarines typically have the chance to choose the location, often selecting a place of personal or historical significance. #Marines being promoted also choose who pins on the new rank, which traditionally are an individual or two who have held the rank themselves and who have served as role models and mentors that helped shaped the promoted into the Marine he or she is today. In keeping with this tradition, Major Golden elected to be pinned in front of The Bronze Relief Sculpture in Boston. Sculpted by Augustus Saint-Gauden, the memorial depicts the 54th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer #Infantry as it marched down Beacon Street in May of 1863 to fight the Confederate Army. Her brother, Major George Golden II, served as the promoting officer. #MarineCorps traditions such as promotion ceremonies emphasize to Marines that their accomplishments are noticed and valued.
