We are incredibly grateful to Jay Valle and NBCU Academy coming out and taking the time to learn about the heart of our work as a K9 search and rescue team. Your willingness to highlight the ongoing search for #RyanTom, who has been missing since June 2021, means more than words can express. By sharing his story, you’re not only helping to keep hope alive for his family but also raising critical awareness about the need for continued action in finding our missing loved ones. Our mission goes beyond searches—we want to empower other tribes to become their own resource by developing K9 search and rescue teams within their communities, and we want to help. Together, we can build stronger networks and bring more families the answers they deserve. Thank you again, NBC, for helping us spread this message and shine a light on the work that’s needed. It was 6-7 years ago when Shelby and I sat in a quiet wash, our loyal pups Trigger and Sunka by our sides, taking a break from training. In that serene moment, we found ourselves immersed in a heartfelt conversation about the change we desperately wanted to see for our people. We spoke of the growing crisis of missing relatives in our communities and the urgent need to provide resources and hope to families searching for their loved ones. We dreamed of building something meaningful—not just to help in the immediate, but to create sustainable solutions for the future. Our ultimate goal was clear: to reach every Tribal Nation and help them establish their own K9 Search and Rescue teams. We wanted each tribe to have the ability to serve their people, to be their own resource in the effort to find and bring home our missing relatives. Today, as 4CK9SAR joins forces with Task Force Red Hand, we are taking a powerful step forward in turning that vision into reality. This partnership represents a shared commitment to uplifting our communities, empowering Tribal Nations, and ensuring no family faces this journey alone. Together, we are stronger, and together, we will continue to work toward a future where every tribe has the tools, knowledge, and support needed to help find their missing and bring peace to their families. This is the legacy of Trigger and Sunka, and it is the promise Shelby and I made to ourselves and our people all those years ago. We are honored to continue this mission with Task Force Red Hand. We’re thrilled to announce the official partnership between Task Force Red Hand and 4Corners K-9 Search and Rescue —a collaboration that will bring groundbreaking impact to the fight against the MMIP crisis in Indigenous communities and beyond. Founded by the incredible Bernadine Beyale, a Diné (Navajo) woman and trailblazer in the world of canine training, 4 Corners K9 specializes in training elite detection dogs for search, rescue, and recovery operations. With a deep commitment to justice and community protection, Bernadine and her team have built a reputation for excellence and innovation. Together, Task Force Red Hand and 4 Corners K9 will combine advanced technology, specialized canine teams, and community-focused strategies to strengthen efforts in combating this crisis. These highly trained K9 units will enhance the ability of Tribal law enforcement and support agencies to locate victims and disrupt trafficking networks. This partnership represents a bold step forward in addressing the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) and trafficking across the United States. We’re honored to stand alongside Bernadine and 4 Corners K9 in this vital mission. #taskforceredhand #4cornersk9searchandrescue #partnershipforjustice #mmip #k9detection #communityimpact #traverseproject

Today at NM Missong Persons Day, we spent valuable time building stronger connections with law enforcement and agencies like McKinley County Sheriffs, Colorado State Police, NM State Police, San Juan County Sheriffs, Navajo PD and Farmington PD. It's crucial that we keep this collective effort moving forward and stay committed to working hand-in-hand to support families and bring missing loved ones home. #CollectiveEffort #CommunityCollaboration #SupportFamilies #Arizona #Newmexico #Colorado #Utah
