"I know this sounds crazy, but it’s actually easier to raise $3 million than it is to raise $300,000.” Yesterday, I was helping a wonderful founder plan his fundraise. Like many founders, he thought a small raise would be easier — but it’s not. One of the weird things about venture capital is that raising a large sum is easier than raising a small one. When you show up asking for $3 million for a seed stage startup, you’re showing that you know how the game is played. You know what your company is worth and what it can raise. And you have the network to get it done. When you show up looking for a $250,000 seed round, you look like an outsider. You look like you don’t know how venture capital works. Fairly or unfairly, investors want to back insiders, not outsiders. More below, including how much to raise... #startups #venturecapital

The more you help others, the more success finds you. Success is built on relationships, trust, and the value you bring to others. The world’s most successful people know this and live by it. When you give, you don’t just help someone else, you set the foundation for a cycle of growth, opportunity, and abundance in your own life. Giving builds trust. When you help others without expecting anything in return, people notice. You become someone they can rely on, someone they trust. And trust? It’s the currency of every relationship—personal and professional. You earn credibility. Sharing your knowledge or lending a hand showcases your expertise. It positions you as a go-to person in your field, opening doors to opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations. Giving expands your network. Every time you help someone, you plant a seed. That person remembers you, talks about you, and often introduces you to others. Your network grows exponentially, bringing you closer to people who can change your life. Make this a daily habit! When you focus on giving, you’re not losing, you’re investing. Every act of generosity plants a seed for future opportunities. You earn trust, build relationships, and position yourself as a leader. The help you give today may not return to you immediately, but it always comes back, often bigger than you expect. It’s not karma, it’s simply how the world works. The quote is from the book How to Live an Extraordinary Life. Follow me Endrit Restelica for more.

    Mission "Europe"

Harry Stebbings Harry Stebbings is an Influencer

    Founder @ 20VC

So few investors have a 100x investment. Klaus Hommels has 6+ and 1 1,000x investment. F******* nuts. 🎵 Spotify: $96BN market cap 🏡 Airbnb: $86BN market cap 📲 Facebook: $1.41TN market cap 🪙 Coinbase: $79BN market cap 💳 Revolut: $45BN latest valuation 💻 Zoom: $27BN market cap 💥 Helsing: $5.4BN latest valuation Combined, these companies are now worth almost $2TN!! 🤯 That’s an insane track record & my 8 takeaways 👇 1. Why Venture Capital Is Just Outsourced Biz Dev - The entrepreneur is the star. - I am a feature to increase the odds of their success. - Venture is not a job where you’re sitting in a nice office using borrowed power from LPs. 2. When I Had an Investing Hit I Did Not Invest for 3 Months - Success will make you think you can walk over water. - You need to stay humble. - If you lose your cool you will make silly mistakes. 3. Europe Is Under Financing Innovation by a Factor of 8  - Europe used to finance 4% of its GDP into innovation in the 50s-70s. - Now it is 0.5%. - Regulations have made venture the only compliant way to finance innovation in Europe. 4. Do Not Build Portfolios Just Invest in Cool Companies - There’s a lot of things we don’t know about the market so trying to build an ecosystem is incredibly hard. - If I find cool companies that make a difference, that’s where the beef is. - If you have one or two of them every portfolio looks great. 5. Young Technical Founders Will Change the Future of Europe - We had little to no technical founders in the 2000s because most of Europe were copycat nations. - Most people were afraid of becoming self-employed. - Now it’s changing; the quality of founders coming out of universities today is drastically different. 6. Why This Billionaire Is Not Price Sensitive - If my winners were 30% more expensive, I would still do them. - We are in the business of making right judgments, not the business of buyouts. - Price is a hygiene factor that signals mutual respect and understanding with the founder. 7. How a Billionaire’s Son Led to a Investment in Revolut - Our UK team missed it initially. - I saw my son raving about the app with his friends. - I immediately ordered my team to get on the cap table. 8. Why Europe Is Unable to Send Satellites for 6 Years - Arianespace sold 100% of its transport capacity to Amazon. - We cannot get a slot in SpaceX because of all the restrictions. - There are no other alternatives for Europe. 𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗡 𝗘𝗥𝗔 𝐊𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐚 bids a nostalgic farewell to around 𝟒,𝟓𝟎𝟎 of its iconic Yellow Ambassador taxis, as they exceed the 𝟏𝟓-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 service limit. These Yellow cabs, affectionately woven into the fabric of the city, have been more than just a mode of transportation—they’ve been silent witnesses to countless stories, emotions, and memories. Their history dates back to 1908 when the first taxis were introduced in 𝐊𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐚, offering rides for just 𝟖 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐬 per mile, setting the stage for what would become an enduring symbol of the city. For decades, they ruled 𝐊𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐚’𝐬 streets, from the bustling corners of Esplanade to the serene lanes of Ballygunge. Their horn honks and rumbling engines became the city's heartbeat, a comforting constant amid the chaos of urban life. As these 𝐘𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐬 make way for a new era of modern, sustainable mobility, let us honor their legacy—a legacy of resilience, character, and an undying connection to the soul of Kolkata. What’s your fondest memory of riding in a yellow taxi?
