🌟 Advancing Health Equity through Policy and Advocacy!🌟 AAMWA, led by President Kenny Hampton and VP Natalie Donnally, is at the forefront of advocating for health equity in policy changes such as House Bill 550 for payors to step up & provide equitable access to early prostate screenings specifically for Black men who are most disproportionately effected by Prostate Cancer. Through our National clinic to community model, we are paving the way for increased **education**, **awareness**, and equitable access through our FREE health screenings for more than 60,000 participants nationwide. 🔗 Today at the **Press Conference with State Representative Jarrells**in Columbus, OH, our VP Natalie Donnally showcased our grassroots advocacy and policy efforts of standing in the gap with partners such as American Cancer Society, Zero Prostate Cancer, FORCE and patient ambassadors to raise awareness on the importance of voices to pass House Bill 550 which will decrease barriers to preventative health screenings. Together, we can ensure that everyone benefits from equitable access to FREE health screenings for improved health outcomes and enhanced life expectancy for Black men. 💪 Let’s continue to advocate for change! #HealthEquity #ProstateCancerPrevention #CommunityEngagement #AAMWA #ClosingtheGap #MyHealthCantWait #Advocacy

🧠🇺🇸 Important Fact: African American veterans are 1.5 times more likely to experience PTSD compared to their counterparts. This higher rate is influenced by unique stressors, such as racial discrimination and systemic inequities, that can impact their mental health during and after military service. What can we do to support them? Advocate for and support policies that promote equitable, culturally competent mental health care. Raise awareness about the challenges African American veterans face. Encourage community-based programs that provide safe spaces and resources tailored to their experiences. Let’s commit to a future where every veteran receives the care and support they deserve. Together, we can make a difference. #AAMWA #RMRT #VeteransDay #PTSDawareness #SupportBlackVeterans #MentalHealth
