ACADEMY SITREP – CEASEFIRE IN GAZA January 15, 2025 | https://lnkd.in/evYXX5Vg What has Happened: -Earlier today, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement that will pause fighting in Gaza. -The agreement includes three phases, the first of which is a 42-day ceasefire, during which 33 hostages (children, women, female soldiers, men over the age of 50, and humanitarian cases) would be released, while Hamas would receive hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in return. -Israel would begin to withdraw from parts of northern Gaza in the first phase, allowing Palestinians to return to their homes, and humanitarian aid would then be accelerated in Gaza. -Israeli forces would also maintain a presence along the Philadelphi Corridor during the first phase of the agreement and create a buffer zone inside of Gaza along the border with Israel. -Reportedly during the second phase, Hamas would release the remaining living hostages in exchange for a "complete withdrawal" of Israeli forces from Gaza. -The third phase, which would be partially negotiated during earlier phases, would include the return of deceased hostages, the beginning of the reconstruction of Gaza, and the opening of its borders. Most recently, Mr. Lauer was the Head of Business Development & Institutional Sales where he played a pivotal role in expanding the firm's client base and strengthening key relationships with institutional partners. His proven ability to drive business growth and cultivate strategic partnerships will be invaluable as he steps into his new role. Prior to Academy, Mr. Lauer worked at Citi for 23 years having held several notable roles including Head of North American Securitized Product Sales and Head of Fixed Income Sales - Midwest Region. Mr. Lauer assumes this role from Spencer Wilcox who has recently been appointed as Academy’s new President.
