Today is Zero Inbox Day, a perfect opportunity to rethink how we manage our email inbox. Worldwide, around 3 million emails are sent every second! It's no wonder then that nearly 30% of workers say emails are their biggest work distraction, with many spending up to five hours daily checking, reading, and replying to emails. In today’s world, emails are essential for getting work done. The key is learning to manage your emails effectively – you control them, don’t let emails control you. Strategies like setting specific times for checking emails, organizing emails with filters and folders, and minimizing distractions by unsubscribing, you can regain control. Another tip is to think before you send. You can be contributing to someone else’s inbox clutter when you copy someone on a message that they don’t need to be included on, or when you send an email that could’ve been resolved in a workplace chat like Slack or Teams or by walking down the hall and talking to a team member face to face.
