Two years ago, we announced our $100 million Google Career Certificate Fund, which is designed to help drive over $1 billion of wage gains for 20,000 Americans—today we’re sharing an update on our progress. Thankful to work alongside so many brilliant minds on this, including our friends at Social Finance (Tracy and Jake), and the incredible Google team including Juan and Lisa (and Nicolas, Amanda, Christian, Troy, Jessica, Robert, + Andréa). Most importantly, we have a brilliant slate of implementing partners who have one focus: to create the right conditions to facilitate upward mobility for underserved jobseekers. Proud we get to continue to partner with Merit America (Connor, Rebecca) and also grow our partner list with groups I've long admired like Per Scholas (Plinio, Caitlyn), San Diego Workforce Partnership, and Ada Developers Academy. We're also excited to announce a $5M grant for Social Finance to work alongside our friends at AdeptID (Fernando!) to develop AI-powered talent matching solutions to boost outcomes for the participants of the fund. This fund has the potential to reshape how we allocate capital for workforce development, leveraging philanthropy to invite return seeking capital off the sidelines and into the arena. We'll keep you all updated as we continue to learn and expand... https://lnkd.in/dCyx9Ejy

  • During Ada Developers Academy’s 10+ years, over 100 corporate partners have helped build a vibrant community by offering internships to Adies. Through our Ada Rebuild campaign, we’re renewing these vital connections. Corporate partnerships are a key part of our journey, bridging the gap between learning and launching meaningful careers. According to Highspot, Ada interns stand out for their tenacity, intelligence, and adaptability. Thanks to our highly selective admissions process, with only a 21% acceptance rate, our interns bring top-tier technical skills, a passion for technology, and a collaborative spirit. They’re not just prepared to meet the challenges of tech—they’re ready to thrive and contribute in ways that make a lasting impact. If you want to learn how Ada’s Corporate Partnership Program can help your engineering team, contact us at partners@adadevelopersacademy.org. #AdaRebuild #ChangingtheFaceofTech

  • Roughly 16 percent of the world’s population has disabilities, yet many people struggle to obtain workplace accommodations, often due to concerns about cost. Out of 10,000 disabled individuals worldwide, 74% of those who requested disability accommodations had at least one request denied. Deloitte’s Disability Inclusion @ Work 2024: A Global Outlook explores the workplace experiences of people with disabilities, chronic health conditions, and those who are neurodivergent. A key takeaway from this report is that workplaces often aren’t designed for disabled people to succeed. • Change starts here. 💻✨ In 2023, 51% of Adies landed full-time jobs within six months of graduation, achieving an average salary increase of 112%. This success unfolded in a job market characterized by an abundance of qualified tech professionals, fewer entry-level positions, a decrease in DEI hiring initiatives, significant industry layoffs, and widespread team downsizing, making it an increasingly challenging environment. These numbers aren’t just statistics – they represent lives transformed, barriers broken, and the ripple effect of opportunity spreading across communities. Through our Ada Rebuild campaign, we’re working to ensure even more women and gender-expansive individuals from underrepresented backgrounds achieve success in tech. Together, we can continue empowering Adies to change their futures – and the industry – for the better. Make a gift to Ada today! #AdaRebuild #ChangeTheFaceOfTech  https://lnkd.in/gscgGcV2
