New Two Minute Tip published: Changing the Default Adalo App Home Screen - https://lnkd.in/eNjw2nwz
About us
We believe anyone one should be able to make an app, regardless of technical skill. Adalo is a platform that makes creating apps as easy as putting together a slide deck. Creating web and mobile apps traditionally required learning how to code, finding a technical cofounder, or raising a lot of capital. For some, this means spending lots of precious time and money before they can get their idea off the ground. For others, this cost is simply too high and they walk away from their dream. With Adalo, anyone can turn their idea into a real app — without having to hire expensive developers.

Celebrating International Women’s Day: The Legacy of Ada Lovelace & Adalo’s Inspiration Today, on International Women’s Day, we at Adalo want to take a moment to celebrate the pioneering woman who inspired our name—Ada Lovelace. Born in London in 1815, Ada Lovelace was a visionary mathematician and writer, best known for her work on Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine—an early mechanical computer. She saw beyond its basic calculations, imagining a future where machines could generate music, create art and solve complex problems. In doing so, she became the world’s first computer programmer, long before the digital revolution. Today, we honor Ada’s legacy and celebrate the women in tech, business, and beyond who are shaping the future. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInTech #AdaLovelace #Adalo #NoCode

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve performance, we’ve deployed several optimizations to the Adalo system database which every single Maker touches as part of the app building process. Specifically, database queries related to app builds, Magic Text, API collection endpoints, and templates should all be faster now, contributing to the overall goal of making Adalo the fastest app builder and publication service in the world!

Hot on the heels of our announcement removing App Actions from subscription costs, we’re excited to share more updates on our ongoing platform improvements. # Free Plans Are Back Our engineering team has implemented a solution to store inactive free databases in cold storage, eliminating the need for mass deletions. This means: - No free database deletions – your apps remain safe. - Unpublished apps enter cold storage after 60 days and can be reactivated in 30 seconds when needed. - Full refunds will be issued for Maintenance Mode subscribers, plus a thank-you coupon! # Firewall Calibration In January, we finally resolved a persistent issue that caused international makers to see the “Cannot connect to servers” banner. This was fixed by adjusting our Web Application Firewall (WAF), significantly reducing reports of this issue. # Adalo Builder Improvements We’ve made dozens of improvements to the builder, including removing unnecessary third-party JavaScript libraries; adding tooltips with links to documentation; and introducing a new native list for social media apps and native pagination, both launching in mid-February. # Experts Page Improvements With help from Alex at Ozonebuilds, we’ve removed inactive experts and added maker-rating rankings for better expert discovery. # App Database Optimization We’re bringing in PostgreSQL experts to enhance performance across unique schemas. # Component Optimization More native list types (including a Social Media list) and native pagination will soon replace inefficient components. # Image Compression Uploaded images are now compressed up to 33% more, reducing load times. # Maker Education Kyle Belford and Jason Gilmore have been busy creating new blog posts, videos, and webinars. They recently hosted an Adalo Performance Q&A, auditing maker apps and sharing optimization tips. Last week we deployed a few changes that will improve image compression for all images uploaded via the Image component or via the Collections editor. Results will vary according to image, however our internal tests showed a compression improvement of as much as 33%. Note this change will not affect previously uploaded images, however will affect all newly uploaded images, including images which you overwrite by uploading them anew. You can learn more about this update on our blog: https://lnkd.in/ejU4XTeR
