Advance works to address the vast disparity and unique barriers that exist for Native people in U.S. politics.
About us
Advance Native Political Leadership is the first and only national Native American-led organization working to address the vast disparity and unique barriers that exist for Indigenous peoples in U.S. politics. Our theory of change is that when Native peoples and communities have access to national networks, innovative tools for community organizing, strategies for civic and voter engagement, and pathways to leadership, we inherently advance all of our communities’ health and wellbeing. Advance Native Political Leadership was founded to address the need for increased Native American representation in elected and appointed office at all levels across the country.

"I was the youngest Senate candidate in the entire state of New Mexico when I ran. As a queer person, as an Indigenous person, and as someone who's been system impacted." - Veronica Krupnick (Hopi, Jemez Pueblo, Navajo Nation) What others may see as barriers, we see as strengths. Our differences are our superpowers. 💫 Veronica's story reminds us that our unique experiences and identities aren't obstacles to leadership - they're exactly why our voices are needed in the political arena. The future of Native political power isn't just about representation. It's about bringing our whole selves, our lived experiences, and our communities' wisdom to create lasting change. Ready to be part of this movement? Your story matters. Your leadership matters. 🗣️ #BuildNativePower #NativeLeadership #IndigenousPolitics #RepresentationMatters #AdvanceNativePL

📻 Big news! A record-breaking 170+ Native candidates are on the ballot this fall across 24 states. While that's historic progress, we still have work to do - Native Americans make up just 0.07% of elected officials despite being 3% of the U.S. population. Proud to be featured in NPR discussing how we're working to build Native political power and create pathways for Indigenous leaders to serve in public office. From school boards to Congress, Native voices and representation matter.
