Chasing every opportunity can feel necessary, but it risks diluting value and derailing long-term growth. The answer? 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬. And that’s where fractional CROs (Chief Revenue Officers) come in. These experts bring the sales leadership startups need, helping build predictable revenue streams while staying aligned with their mission. I recently sat down with Jay Kleinman (from TechCXO) to dive deep into the power of fractional sales leadership in health tech. If you’re a founder struggling to balance vision with execution, this conversation is for you. 🎧 What we covered: 1️⃣ 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐄𝐎𝐬 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬 2️⃣ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 3️⃣ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦 in sales 4️⃣ 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐑𝐎 ... • 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦? 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. Igor Gorlatov met Mariya Boikova at an International House Charlotte fundraiser last week, and what started as a casual conversation turned into an exciting opportunity. Mariya, who moved to the U.S. at 13, has a background in competitive college tennis and now manages a $2.9Mn NIH-funded research project. She’s eager to bring her clinical research expertise and immigrant perspective to the entrepreneurial world as an advisor. At Advisory5, we believe advisors don’t always fit the traditional mold. Some come from large organizations, like Mariya, equipped with deep expertise in NIH grants and clinical operations. These professionals may not see themselves as startup mentors, but their knowledge and networks are invaluable to health tech founders. Mariya is now ready with her onboarding materials and excited to dive into her first venture!
