Securing Funding and Long-Term Sustainability Finding funding is a top issue for afterschool programs everywhere — let’s talk about what you need to know to secure funds and advocate for long-term program sustainability. Designed to build on the Afterschool Alliance’s sustainability blog series, we’ll dig into questions about where programs can source funds and what they need to do to make sure afterschool remains in local, state, and federal budgets now and going forward. We’ll hear stories from the field as local programs describe how they’ve kept the lights on afterschool for kids in their communities.

#ElectionDay 2024 brought wins for afterschool–Austin, TX passed an initiative that would help expand childcare for families while Platte County, MO established the Platte County Children’s Services Fund to support mental health services for youth. https://lnkd.in/ekcJx_Ns

We’re counting down to 2024 with the big moments in afterschool. This year, U.S. Department of Education recognized 13 exemplary non-profits and city municipalities in the inaugural class of #EngageEveryStudent Program Champions. At the 3rd annual #EngageEveryStudent Summit, a beaming Secretary Miguel Cardona shared, “This year’s Engage Every Student Champions are leading the charge in their local communities and states to ensure that all students nationwide have the opportunity to thrive, learn, and grow through their engagement in high-quality afterschool and summer learning programs.” https://lnkd.in/eCWpWumu
