  • The Pride and Progress conference, a collaborative effort by AgeSpan, Good Shepherd Community Care , the LGBTQIA+ Aging Project at Fenway Community Health and Salem State University School of Social Work, is an inspiring virtual event that shines a spotlight on the aging issues faced by LGBTQIA+ older adults, caregivers, and their allies. It offers a welcoming space to connect, learn, and grow together. Whether you’re a consumer, social worker, educator, researcher, policymaker, or healthcare professional, this is your opportunity to support and empower LGBTQIA+ communities. The conference planning committee anticipates hosting nine workshops following a keynote presentation by Matthew Russell, MD, MSc, on the intersection of HIV and aging. Dr. Russell is the Clinical Director of Geriatric Medicine and Medical Director of the Ambulatory Geriatric Medicine initiatives. He also serves as co-director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Age-Positively program, a clinical collaboration between the Division of Infectious Disease and the Section of Geriatric Medicine. Creative, innovative and social impact-driven leader

This morning, Katherine Cruise and I had the privilege of delivering Meals on Wheels to over 20 older adults through AgeSpan. Each person we visited was grateful for the support and the chance to connect with someone. One moment that stands out was with a homebound 93-year-old woman who shared stories about her career, family, and how she still feels a strong sense of purpose in life. Her resilience and wisdom were truly heartwarming. It was a humbling and rewarding way to spend the morning. If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, AgeSpan is seeking volunteer drivers (weekday mornings) in the North Shore and Merrimack Valley. https://lnkd.in/esfnyy7g

In celebration of 20 years of Senior Whole Health, we are reflecting on our meaningful partnership with AgeSpan, an Aging Services Access Point in Lawrence. Like us, AgeSpan is dedicated to helping seniors maintain their independence and live their best lives as they age. As part of an event bringing place-based support to the Sun Building Apartments in Lowell, we invited AgeSpan to collect responses from residents on their needs and interests to improve the building. Together, we built connections and worked to address social isolation among elderly Bay Staters. #SWH20for20
