🚀Our United States Air Force Test Pilot School is helping to meet the need for trained space domain testers ensuring readiness for operational success in the highly contested #space domain. At the TPS, located on Edwards Air Force Base, Space Test Course students train beside Flight Test Course students and also receive specialized instruction in astronautical sciences and space mission systems. This integration fosters a multi-domain test capability - essential for modern warfare capabilities. Expanded hands-on training opportunities, such as operating real on-orbit assets through partnerships with organizations such as the Air Force Research Laboratory's Small Satellite Portfolio team, ensures graduates are ready for operational work upon completion of program requirements. 🖥️A new Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center application aims to give real-time financial readiness information to commanders, senior enlisted leaders and first sergeants, ensuring the #Airmen and #Guardians in their care are mission ready. The program pulls data from diverse resources, helping to identify potential financial-related issues that might go unnoticed so that leaders can provide access to resources and support Airmen and Guardians may need to ensure they can stay mission-focused on high-stress operations. By minimizing the stress at home, warfighters can better focus to meet operational needs. Details: https://lnkd.in/gkPGJbCm #readiness #USAF #warfighter #application #data Photo by: London Prince

🚀#ICYMI Minuteman III - Safe, secure, reliable and effective. Our teams at the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center supported Air Force Global Strike Command and Vandenberg Space Force Base in a test launch of a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile, Feb. 19. The ICBM was equipped with a single telemetered joint test assembly re-entry vehicle. The test launch is part of routine activity to assess the ICBM deterrent and provides Airmen and Guardians the opportunity to demonstrate professionalism and readiness to support and defend against threats. ✈️GENUS...it's GENIUS! Air Force Sustainment Center leaders presented the concept of a Global Enterprise Network for Universal Sustainment, or GENUS, which is an innovative new concept for ensuring global operational readiness for warfighters across the globe. GENUS aims to create an ecosystem of key facilities able to complete aircraft repair in different global locations, returning airpower to the fight faster. The goal is to build a sustainable network that benefits not only the U.S., but partners and allies across the globe, ensuring our warfighters have what they need to meet and defeat operational challenges. 🤝Ready together: Training and working with our #allies and partners helps ensure operational #readiness during joint endeavors in the field. The 75th Mission Support Group at Hill Air Force Base hosted the Royal Australian Air Force for a joint #munitions movement effort, sharing expertise on logistics and palletized munitions transport. The team at Hill AFB helped in the inspection, transfer, and upload process for dual thrust rocket motors, aiding in the swift return of assets to the Australian theater. The operation was a unique opportunity for personnel from each nation to learn about different logistics processes, sharing information and techniques to drive towards greater mutual operational readiness. New lab, new opportunities: Edwards Air Force Base's new Flight Test Engineering Lab is ready for action, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony marking the opening in late 2024. The lab will improve the testing and integration of critical systems, including Electro Optics/Infrared (EO/IR) sensors, long-range kill chain data link capabilities, and will support the development of digital twin tools for creation of future combat capabilities. The lab will support new technolgies and also serve as a space to support additional training for young engineers across the test enterprise. ✈️High-performance computers and digital tools for the win! How can we 'breathe' new life into B-52s when the original Pratt & Whitney TF33 engines have been out of production since 1985? A collaborative effort with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and the engineers and technical experts at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is helping to do that by leveraging a cloud-based digital engineering environment and high-performance computing for the B-52H Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP). CERP is a modernizing effort to install new Rolls Royce F130 engines onto the 70-year-old B-52 bomber fleet. The update is projected to increase system reliability and reduce current maintenance costs. By leveraging the HPCMP CREATE software, engineers are using digital simulations and analysis to understand the aerodynamic impacts of new engines...before the B-52s take off. This will lead to reduced testing costs in the future as smart modeling can identify issues ahead of testing. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gBac5muV (Courtesy photo)
