Invest with Airbnb Alumni in the next generation of 21st-century companies.

About us

Airbnb brought together some of the most talented and ambitious people from around the globe, who then built and scaled a very special company. Many of us were lucky enough to be early Airbnb employees, working through years of hyper-growth, across many disciplines. Now, in the spirit of being a host, we want to support ambitious new entrepreneurs as they embrace their new adventure. Companies we invest in get access to not just capital but also our wide breadth of experience and network. Our members are early Airbnb employees turned investors, entrepreneurs, and operators spread across the world. We have extensive backgrounds in engineering, product, growth, operations, brand, data science, marketplaces, international expansion, and policy. This expert network will supercharge the startups we back. We are global, ambitious, and ready to help.

  • Our friends and portfolio company beeps publicly launched today! 👏

Big news from beeps! 📟 We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce our $5.6 million seed round led by Zane Lackey at Andreessen Horowitz with participation from alana goyal at basecase capital, Rafael Corrales at Background Capital, Daniel Rumennik and Lenny Rachitsky of AirAngels in addition to Julia Metcalf, Theo Browne, Colin Sidoti, Bucky Moore, Morgan Mahlock, Neil Jagdish Patel, Sarah Richard and Mathias Biilmann Christensen.  We love to build and couldn’t be more inspired by our crew of investor builders. As someone who has spent the past 25 years in reliability, the prospect of building a better on-call platform is deeply personal.  I’ve probably been beeped and responded to more alerts in my life than phone calls from friends and family.  I’ve sat alone at 3am with the weight of a decacorn upon my shoulders.  I’ve sprinted with a KVM across a data center to get to a physical server so I could start investigating seconds faster.   I’ve missed out on countless dinners with family, hang outs with friends or simply was always the guy with his backpack wherever he went.  And even brought on-call into some of my biggest life moments.  We must make this better. The thing is, I was exceptional at being on-call and it still wrecked me.  I was highly trained and had thousands of reps.  Modern developers are being thrown into the on-call fire and expected to be great with little training, without the “ops” background and with higher stakes.  We’re not building beeps for the site reliability engineers, the “devops” teams, or the platform engineers. We’re building beeps for you, the modern developer.

It’s been such a privilege these last few years partnering with leading organizations like Discover Financial, Snowflake, Canva, Sephora, Northwestern Mutual, and so many more to reinvent enterprise procurement. Today, we are thrilled to announce a new suite of enterprise-grade functionality within our core platform. The new capabilities will help enterprises orchestrate the entire procurement lifecycle and fully integrate Zip across any tech stack. Our customers face a multitude of regulatory and policy requirements that all converge on their procurement process. Zip’s new capabilities, including a new edition of our platform, unify disparate systems and governance teams onto a single efficient and user-friendly platform to reimagine what procurement could look like. The new enterprise capabilities we announced today include: → Zip Premier: newest platform edition that streamlines compliance through a robust set of advanced permissions and system management capabilities to unlock more granular control. → Orchestration Library: scale efficiently with a catalog of 100+ pre-designed workflow templates based on the learnings and best practices from our largest customers. No more designing complex, intricate purchasing workflows. → Integration Platform: build custom integrations with pre-built API. No more costly system integrators, dedicated engineering resources, and time-consuming ongoing maintenance. We are able to meet the demands of large enterprises and scale to the complexity of our customers because of the incredibly talented engineering team we have in place. From day 1 we have had a world class technical team that enables Zip to be uniquely positioned to build for large global enterprises in heavily regulated industries like finance, healthcare, and tech. It truly took our entire team and community to get to this milestone, so finally wanted to say: • Thank you to our incredible EPD team, who have partnered closely with our solutions team and our customers directly to build a world class product. • Thank you to Rujul, Gabe, Joyce, Wenchang, Junfeng, Tracy, Aleene, Cathy, and Kendall - this wouldn't be possible without your leadership • And most importantly, thank you to all of our customers. We wouldn't be here without all of the support and valuable feedback you've shared with us along the way. With this launch we are setting a new standard for enterprise procurement platforms and ushering in a new era of procurement. We are only just getting started and I cannot wait to reveal more exciting innovation later this year. Stay tuned! 🚀

Still can't believe that Lenny and the AirAngels joined our Series A 🤯 "Across the thousands of startup decks I've looked at, I've almost never seen a growth trajectory like the growth Tracksuit has seen. Understanding brand health was a big driver of strategy at Airbnb (such as what are levels of awareness and consideration by market, compared to competitors, etc). Though I wasn't driving this work, my sense is that the teams would have killed for a tool like this." (Our new mate Lenny said that)... 📈 It feels like a real milestone because Harry and I have been reading/listening/obsessing over Lenny content for years. Most of the strategy at Tracksuit has been influenced in some way by Lenny's writing ✨ In case you don't know, Lenny writes and produces some of the best product and growth content on the internet, with 623,000 Substack subscribers and (I imagine) an obscene amount of weekly podcast listens. I'll link it in the comments for y'all 🙋♀️ From Lenny's podcast with Brian Chesky (CEO and Cofounder of AirBnB) 🏡 "I think of performance marketing as a laser. Actually my co-founder who obviously you know well, Joe, used to have this metaphor of lasers, flash bulbs and chandeliers. If you want to light up a room, performance marking is a laser. It can light up a corner of a room. You don’t want to use a bunch of lasers to light up an entire room. You should use a chandelier and that’s what brand marketing is. But if you do need to laser in and balance supply and demand, then performance marketing is really good. It literally lasers in. Performance marketing though doesn’t create very good accumulating advantages because it’s not an investment." 💡 Check out Airbnb's impressive brand funnel vs Booking.com, Hilton and Vrbo 💜
