Airbus Defence and Space has delivered the first Airbus #A400M for the Republic of Kazakhstan to become the cornerstone of the country’s tactical and strategic airlift operations. The first of two Airbus A400Ms ordered by Kazakhstan was handed over to the customer after a ferry flight from Airbus’ A400M Final Assembly Line in Seville, southern Spain, a few days earlier. Throwback to Thuraya 4-NGS (Next Generation Satellite) journey!🛰️ Before starting its trip to space, the latest telecommunications satellite had to travel to its launch site. After being loaded into its container in our Airbus facilities in Toulouse, it was shipped onboard an Airbus Aircraft #Beluga to Florida, USA🛰️🛫 Its next step was the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, where it will be launched into orbit on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at the end of December 2024 🚀 Once in orbit, the electric telecommunications satellite will increase capacity and coverage across Europe, Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East. Here's what you missed last week! 🚀Earth-observer Sentinel-1C was successfully launched on the Vega-C rocket from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana🛰️ The satellite is carrying advanced radar technology, as you can see here - SAR Instrument (C-band radar), designed and built by Airbus - to provide an all-weather, day-and-night supply of imagery of Earth’s surface. ESCAN radar takes to the skies in a Spanish #Eurofighter! 🇪🇸 The electronically scanned radar will enhance the Eurofighter’s capabilities in multimode air-to-air and air-to-ground operations. It is to be integrated into the latest generation Eurofighters of Spain’s ‘Halcón’ and Germany’s ‘Quadriga’ orders. The test flight was conducted in close collaboration with the Ejército del Aire y del Espacio and Spanish Ministry of Defence. #Defence #DefenceMatters

Today marks the 5th flyby of Mercury by BepiColombo! 🛰️ Launched in 2018, the European Space Agency - ESA and JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency #BepiColombo satellite is the first European mission to Mercury.
