According to The Joint Commission's Sentinel Event Data 2023 Annual Review, "Violence-related sentinel events classified as physical assault, sexual assault including rape, or homicide have consistently increased over the last 5 years and became among the top 5 most prevalent sentinel event categories in 2023. According to The Joint Commission's Sentinel Event Data 2023 Annual Review, "patient falls was the most reported sentinel event," representing 48% of all events.
