About us
Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) represents local, regional, and state governing bodies that own and operate commercial airports in the United States and Canada. ACI-NA member airports enplane more than 95 percent of the domestic and virtually all the international airline passenger and cargo traffic in North America. Approximately 380 aviation-related businesses are also members of ACI-NA, providing goods and services to airports. Collectively, U.S. airports employ more than 1.2 million people, support more than 11.5 million jobs, and account for $1.4 trillion in economic activity. Canadian airports support 405,000 jobs and contribute C$35 billion to Canada’s GDP.

I extend my congratulations to Sean Duffy on his nomination to serve as Secretary of Transportation in the incoming administration. As air travel continues to see record highs, it is essential for Duffy and the new Congress to collaborate to secure and retain the funding necessary for airports to modernize their infrastructure and enhance service to travelers. ACI-NA and our member airports are eager to partner with the U.S. Department of Transportation to increase infrastructure funding and reduce regulatory burdens that delay essential airfield, terminal, and business development opportunities. Advancing new airport infrastructure projects will increase air service options, elevate the passenger experience, and drive economic growth in communities across America. We look forward to working with Duffy and the incoming administration.

Airports Council International - North America congratulates South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem on her nomination to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security. The Department of Homeland Security plays a vital role in securing air travel across the nation. The Department and its component agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Transportation Security Administration, are tasked with ensuring the efficient processing of passengers and goods, the engine of a strong economy, and we look forward to collaborating with Noem and her team on risk-based measures that enhance security. The United States has the opportunity to lead the world in passenger processing innovations. Increased international travel is important to the U.S. economy and one of the first things we will encourage Noem to address is the staffing shortages that inhibit the ability to increase passenger and cargo traffic. We urge the Senate to swiftly confirm Noem’s nomination as we stand ready to partner with her and the Department to deploy innovative processes, procedures, and technologies that ensure secure and efficient air travel and support the critical operations of all airports.
