  • 🎄🍪 Holiday spirit is in full swing at AJA! 🍪🎄 This season, a gingerbread man decided to join the team and try his hand at building our equipment. While we admire his enthusiasm, let’s just say he’s no match for our talented technicians when it comes to precision, expertise and clean room practices. While delicious, gum drops don’t belong in a vacuum chamber. Wishing all our colleagues, customers, and friends a joyful holiday season.

I spent a few hours testing out the new quantum materials deposition tool at the Cornell NanoScale Facility today. When peaking through one of the many view ports I noticed that you can see the electron beam when depositing certain materials. Most tools don’t give you the ability to see the beam! Very cool! Zoom in for a closer look. I cant imagine being the person that had the idea to fire an electron beam at a high purity ingot of metal and cause it to evaporate in a high vacuum chamber. We stand on the shoulders of giants! Looking forward to more great things from this tool!

  • Most people roast or deep-fry their Thanksgiving turkey, but here at AJA, we like to take things up a notch—using a 1000°C substrate heater! The good news? It’s done in seconds. The bad news? It’s completely vaporized. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving filled with good food, great company, and maybe just a little less heat! 🦃🔥

  • It was great to have Dr. Matthias Hagner of the University of Konstanz visiting AJA for Factory Acceptance Testing of his team’s new dual chamber sputtering system. Dr Hagner has been an AJA supporter and friend for decades, and a true #Celtics fan for just as long. It was great to combine both worlds for an amazing trip!

  • At AJA International, we believe that supporting the scientific community extends beyond just participating in large, global conferences with thousands of attendees. Equally important to us is engaging with smaller, specialized gatherings like the New England Quantum Technologies (NEQT) meeting hosted by our friend Professor Jiadong Zang. This event, held on the beautiful UNH Durham campus, brings together innovators, researchers, and industry leaders focused on the latest advancements in quantum technologies. By fostering collaboration within a more intimate setting, conferences like NEQT pave the way for groundbreaking developments in quantum research and its applications. We're proud to sponsor and participate in events of all sizes that drive innovation forward. #MaterialScience #SputteringSystems #ThinFilmDeposition #VacuumTechnology #CustomEngineering
