Celebrating Healthy People in Healthy Communities!

About us

ACPHD’s mission is to work in partnership with the community to ensure the optimal health and well-being of all people through a dynamic and responsive process respecting the diversity of the community and challenging us to provide for present and future generations. The vision is for everyone in Alameda County, no matter who they are, where they live, how much money they make, or the color of their skin, to lead healthy, fulfilling, and productive lives. ACPHD’s vision and mission address traditional and contemporary public health concerns and emphasize the importance of resident engagement in planning, implementing, and evaluating health programs, services, and policy. ACPHD conducts its work through broad collaborations and by engaging partners that have not historically been involved in public health but whose knowledge and expertise are needed to resolve the many health and safety issues facing individuals and populations in the county. ACPHD’s values and practices are grounded in a culture of HEALTH.
