Incident Management Teams bring order to chaos and offer critical support to individuals and communities in their most urgent times of need. In between crises, we train to improve our readiness for future disasters. A central aspect of our preparation involves conducting full-scale exercises. These can be approached in two ways. If budget permits, you can purchase a high-quality pre-designed exercise. Alternatively, if your team has the necessary expertise and dedication, you can create a custom exercise tailored to your specific local conditions and threats. This approach allows you to engage your key stakeholders in the training process and test local disaster plans. The Incident Management Training Association (IMTA) invites you to share your experiences with full-scale exercises. What strategies have worked for you, and what insights can you share with others considering an exercise for their agency or community? We look forward to hearing from you and seeing your photos. Please send your contributions to pio@ahimta.org.
