All Voting is Local reposted this
Election officials have always been the bedrock of our election system, working tirelessly to make voting safe and accessible, to count every vote, and to ensure results are certified. They do this work on behalf of their neighbors and communities, and to make the promise of our democracy real for every American. They shouldn’t have to keep combating baseless lies and disinformation about the election and election results – but they are. I spoke to Barbara Rodriguez at The 19th about how years of election denialism has worked to undermine public trust in our election systems, and has helped to drive policies at the state and local level that make it harder to vote. There is no question that our elections have numerous built-in checks and balances, and restoring voters’ confidence in that fact is one of our top priorities. Our team at All Voting is Local is more committed than ever to engaging voters in advancing inclusive voting policies that expand ballot access and holding public officials accountable to protecting our election process. That’s essential to having a democracy that works for all of us. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eFP--Wzq

Garley after he couldn’t register to vote -Won the case, which removed legal barriers to voting for Native Americans on tribal land in NM

Election officials are still working tirelessly to do their jobs and #CountEveryVote in Pennsylvania. For democracy to work for all of us, every voter must have their voice heard and their vote counted.

“Progress has never been easy or straightforward, but the push and pull of voter activism has helped strengthen our democracy.” From the civil rights activists of the 1960s to nuns in Pennsylvania in 2024, voters have long fought to ensure their ballots will be counted safely and securely. A new blog by our executive director Hannah Fried breaks down how the long history of voter activism continues to shape our work today. https://lnkd.in/gmuuPmz8

🗣Reminder: The election results will take time. It means our democracy is working. We must ensure we are counting every vote. It’s what’s fair. It’s what’s accurate. And it’s what’s right. #CountEveryVote
