🆕 When signed in June 2024, our sponsored bill #AB2268 (Muratsuchi) went into immediate effect to exempt #TransitionalKindergarten (#TK) students from taking the English Language Proficiency Assessment of California (ELPAC) in the 2024-25 school year. We are proud to announce that #AB2074, which we co-sponsored with California Association for Bilingual Education - CABE, was signed into law yesterday by Governor Gavin Newsom. We applaud the governor and legislature for recognizing the importance of this work. We are especially grateful to bill authors Asm. Al Muratsuchi Asm. David Alvarez, and their staff for their work in drafting AB 2074 and seeing it through the legislative process.
