January is #NationalGlaucomaMonth. Join us in spreading awareness about the symptoms, risk factors, and treatments for #glaucoma, a serious eye disease that can lead to irreversible blindness if not detected and treated early. Visit our friends Prevent Blindness to learn more!
January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month and Prevent Blindness has tons of free resources to help educate the public, care partners and health care professionals on the “sneak thief of sight!” 👁️ 👁️ Glaucoma causes loss of sight by damaging a part of the eye called the optic nerve. When glaucoma damages the optic nerve, patches of vision are lost, usually peripheral vision. Treatment cannot reverse damage that has already occurred, but it can prevent further vision loss. Visit their website for a vast collection of free resources including downloadable fact sheets, a listing of glaucoma financial assistance resources, shareable social media graphics, and a dedicated webpage.
