Come and experience the allure of specialty coffee first-hand! * 🗺️ Origin Adventure Sessions 📅 November 7 (Thursday) - November 8 (Friday) 📍 COEX Conference Room 317 The Origin Adventure sessions will be led by: • Gary Urrutia (COE Managing Director) A specialist in the specialty coffee industry, Gary has been sharing the true value of coffee through COE's rigorous standards and quality control. • Laurie Linn (ACE Membership Director) As a leader in the specialty coffee community, Laurie strengthens ACE's member network and promotes the value of specialty coffee. • Yannis Apostolopoulos (SCA CEO) Yannis will introduce the direction of Coffee Value Assessment (CVA), the background of the recent MOU, and future initiatives. • SCA CVA Certified Trainers (Dongjun Oh, James Jongho Woo, Sunny Yoon, Sungye Chun) The only four certified CVA trainers in Korea, who have completed rigorous training, will reinterpret COE coffees using the CVA description form and share how to enjoy coffee.

I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to participate in the Cup of Excellence (CoE), known as the “Olympics of Coffee,” which celebrates 25 years of history, in the country where it all began - Brazil! It was an honor to be part of such a significant event, where we had the chance to try coffees of exceptional quality, with impressive scores reaching up to 93.14 points. Despite the challenges posed by the weather in this harvest season, coffee producers demonstrated remarkable resilience, showcasing fine coffee reflecting their commitment and passion for their craft. Taiwan has made a remarkable debut at the Cup of Excellence, with four coffees scoring over 90 points. As the 17th country to host this competition, Taiwan showcased its innovative spirit, introducing a mixed-lot category that fosters collaboration among local producers. https://lnkd.in/du9uJPS2

Ethiopia COE 2024 Auction Results This year’s Ethiopia Cup of Excellence auction was a record-breaking success! With the highest price per pound ever recorded in COE history, reaching $445.00 per pound, the 2024 auction showcased the exceptional quality and diversity of Ethiopian coffees. A total of $906,921.81 was raised, with an average price of $24.46 per pound. The journey began with over 500 samples, which were meticulously evaluated by an international jury of 30 coffee experts over three days. The top 40 coffees were then selected, and the top 10 were revealed, highlighting an incredible range of taste profiles from peach to raspberry and balanced notes of chocolate and fruit. Ethiopia continues to demonstrate its potential on the global stage, with delicious, high-scoring coffees that captivate coffee lovers worldwide. And we are very proud for finally holding the selection in person to the benefit of the relationships that only in this way got created, and hope that the results of this year will boost and galvanize the Ethiopian farmers for many years to come. A brief hola from Peru 🇵🇪 We are halfway through Cup of Excellence / Alliance for Coffee Excellence, Inc. (ACE) preselection week here in Lima, and I have so far cupped 190 coffees, with another 220 to go by Saturday. The work I love most in the world is being around a cupping table in producing countries in community with local and global coffee professionals, and it's such an honor to be able to lead this one small piece of a whole that is much bigger than any one person. This is the work I am best at, and it's the work I hope I get to continue to do for a very long time to come. See y'all on the other side! ☕️🥄🤝
