Trump's Mandate: An Extinction-Level Event for Federal Bureaucracy David Friedberg breaks it down: "There's this thing that happens in biology called evolution. And a lot of people think evolution is this continuous process, but it's not." "Evolution is this process by which there is some significant growth for a period of time, and then there is an extinction event or an external force that causes what ultimately becomes what's called punctuated equilibrium." "So the whole kind of system resets, and then the healthier, stronger species survive and they grow and they persist." "If you look at federal spending over the last couple of decades, and I would argue that many of the agencies, much of the bureaucracy, many of the jobs created, many of the spending programs can kind of be viewed as species within this ecosystem that have kind of grown a lot over the last few decades." "And I think what Trump's mandate was by the people was to be kind of the extinction event." "This is going to bring in the most disruptive force that federal agencies have ever seen." "We cannot continue the way we have been with respect to federal spending, bureaucracy and inefficiency in the federal government, and so something has to happen." "And if this is the path by which this gets resolved, in the limited window that's in front of this particular administration, which is probably two years, maybe four, maybe this is what has to happen." #reels #clips #podcast #allinpodcast #trump #doge #government #bureaucracy #waste #elonmusk #rfkjr #trump #politics #learn #spend #debt

"The Podcast Election" The 2024 presidential election will be remembered for podcasts breaking through as a major source of news. In an era where trust in mainstream media is at an all-time low, presidential candidates have opted for long-form interviews with popular independent voices. Who could have seen this coming?! Oh, yeah... the besties! 😉 Jason and David O. Sacks on E127 (May 2023): DS: "Podcasts could play a huge role. Just like in 2016 social media broke through and played a huge role. In 2024, I think that podcasts could break through." JC: "Podcasts will decide the election." DS: "And be the way unorthodox candidates get their message out." JC: "It could be the way all candidates get their message out." Jason on E143 (August 2023): JC: "We're moving from traditional media defining these candidates to direct-to-consumer, direct through Twitter/X, direct through podcasts, this podcast included." JC: "What we're witnessing right now is the transition from traditional media and the establishment defining who the great candidates are, to the public and the people on podcasts and social media, who are the tip of the spear and the vanguard." JC: "They're going to pick the winners."

Chamath Explains What It's Like To Go On Joe Rogan's Podcast, And Why Kamala Should Do It His Advice: Ignore Your Campaign Strategists And Show The American People Who You Really Are. "Before you go on Rogan, there's a sense of anxiety that I had, which was, 'Do I have enough interesting things to say for three hours?'" "That was really at the top of my mind." "And then you go and you get in the seat. And he's incredible in the way that he moves the conversation along." "And then you end up, you're like, 'Oh, it's already been three hours.'" "That's his superpower." "The reason that (Harris) should find a way to go to Austin and do it is because he has the ability to allow you to be your true self over a long period of time." "And I think, again, just going back to the basics, she deserves for herself, for the American people to vote up or down who she really is." "And all the campaign strategists aside, and all of the other nonsense aside, I would want, if I was running for president, one shot at people being able to see me for who I really am." "And that's why she should go on Rogan." #reels #instagram #clips #joerogan #rogan #podcast #podcastclip #harris #harris2024 #kamalaharris #biden #trump #election2024 #politics #2024

Tesla's Robovan: So Much More Than an Autonomous Bus Last week, Elon unveiled Tesla's two newest models: the Cybercab and the Robovan. Both vehicles are fully autonomous, and neither has a steering wheel or pedals. Many pointed out that the Robovan could change high-density urban transport. But Jason sees even greater possibilities: 1) Mobile ADUs for Rent "I think that thing could become like mobile homes are for ADUs." "If this was a platform, like the Mercedes Sprinter Vans have become that you see a lot in Europe, then you could buy an empty one of these." "It's got enough battery life to last a month. And then let's say you had your in-laws over, and there was one that was set up as a one bedroom." "You could click on Airbnb, or Tesla-bnb, press a button, and the thing could drive to your driveway." "You can rent it for a week, and then it could leave." 2) Mobile Disaster Relief Shelters "Or let's say 1,000 people or 10K people were displaced because of a hurricane." "You could send 100K of these to the parking lots at Walmart, put 100 of these in every parking lot, and have a place for people who are fleeing natural disasters to stay." "So, I thought that was the most compelling product of the whole thing for me, was the possibility of a sled, like a skiff, that you could do anything you want with." #reels #tesla #cybercab #cybertruck #robovan #startups #tech #evs #electric #electricvehicle #elonmusk #podcast #clips #allinpodcast #allin #transit #cars #carlovers

Why Are Over Half of Americans Obese? Eli Lilly CEO Says Ultra-Processed Foods Play a Key Role Last week, Eli Lilly and Company CEO Dave Ricks joined David Friedberg on an All-In Interview. At the top of the show, Friedberg brought up how obesity rates and average caloric intake have been increasing in the US. Ricks pointed out that increases in caloric intake had significantly lagged the growth in obesity rates. He explained: "Severe obesity in particular (has been) kicking up, almost doubling in the last 20 years, whereas caloric intake certainly Isn't moving at that same rate." "So as we think about the problem, of course, excess calories versus expenditures is a key part, but so is probably the ultra processed food story." "I think in the US ... two-thirds of our calories in our country are ultra processed. And that compares to like 35% in Europe." "That's gotta be part of this equation as well."
