Fortune 500 Marketing + Communications | Brand | Content Strategist Drives Bottom Line Results; Leverages AI for Brand Storytelling to Technical and General Audiences

Are you looking for a job? Know someone who is? Soon, AI may bring unexpected benefits to job seekers. At a recent ALLY Energy event, I had the opportunity to hear about new developments in AI-driven hiring. While much of the conversation around AI in recruiting has focused on applicant tracking systems filtering resumes, new technology is emerging to enhance—not hinder—the candidate experience. By leveraging AI to assess personality traits and cultural alignment, companies may soon be able to match talent more effectively—helping job seekers land in workplaces and roles where they can truly thrive. This could mean fewer wasted interviews, more satisfying career moves, and a hiring process that benefits both sides. Exciting times ahead for AI in talent acquisition. Thanks to Katie Mehnert and ALLY Energy for hosting a great discussion on the future of work! #AI #Hiring #FutureOfWork #Recruiting #JobSearch #ALLYEnergy

ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER, FOUNDER, AI STRATEGY & DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION EXECUTIVE - STARTUP ADVISOR | INNOVATION | R&D | PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

The Innovation & AI Summit at Ion Houston was an incredible gathering of over 400 founders, community experts, industry executives, and leaders—coming together to explore how AI is shaping industries across our city and beyond. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in a thought-provoking panel on AI & Digital Disruption, alongside inspiring leaders Patrick Bangert, Kumar Lakshmipathi, Nadia Bollinger, Wogbe (wo-bee) Ofori, and expertly moderated by Professor Haiyang Li from Rice Jones School of Business. The discussions were insightful, collaborative, and forward-thinking—highlighting not just the potential of AI, but also the challenges and responsibilities we must navigate together. Key Takeaways from the Panel are: 1. AI is imperative for all businesses. Every organization should embark on an AI transformation journey with the mindset to “start small but think big.” 2. AI is broader than Generative AI. In asset-heavy industries, AI applications involving time-series data, video, and image analytics are often more critical than Generative AI. The key is to start with the problem, not the technology, and identify the best AI approach for solving it. 3. Edge AI is the key to scaling AI deployment. Many real-world applications rely on AI at the edge, and this trend is becoming increasingly important across industries. 4. AI is not yet ready for mission-critical applications where human lives are at stake, such as in the space industry. While progress is being made, safety and reliability remain top priorities. 5. AI is a catalyst for innovation ecosystems. AI can bridge the gap between academic research and real-world industry challenges, connect entrepreneurs with venture capital, identify trends and technology gaps, and optimize resources like funding, talent, and infrastructure to maximize impact. A huge thank you to Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, Rice Innovation, Brad Burke, Paul Cherukuri, Michael L. Koenig, Zoran Perunovic, Jing Zhou, Haiyang Li, Roberta Schwartz, Barbara Burger, Brian Richards, Dan Shoenthal, Aditya Bansod, and everyone who contributed to this incredible event. The spirit of collaboration and innovation at Rice University and within Houston’s AI ecosystem is truly inspiring. Let’s continue to push the boundaries of AI together! #AI #Innovation #Collaboration #RiceUniversity #Houston #Entrepreneurship

    Sustainability Communications Leader

There are dime-a-dozen conferences and events each year, especially in the energy industry. So what makes Baker Hughes Annual Meeting special? I've had the privilege to attend and contribute to Baker Hughes annual event three years now, and with one of the largest attendance we've seen yet - over 2300 global customers, partners and stakeholders - there's a lot that can be said about the event. Here're my takeaways this year: ✔️𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Baker Hughes Nuovo Pignone is an integral part of the history the Tuscan region, and hence, the city of Florence offers one of the most charming and beautiful settings for the event. I got a chance to visit our Florence Learning Center for the first time, and appreciated the rich legacy of innovation at Baker Hughes. Kicking off the annual meeting with an opulent opera show at a historical Opera House is an experience only available at #BHAM! Baker Hughes’ CEO Lorenzo Simonelli’s keynote and his reflections on #BHAM2025 talked about progressing at scale, a key theme of the future not just for us, but the industry as well.  ✔️𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: We continued to focus on sustainability of the event, with improvements made in how we measure, track and reduce our emissions, as well as contributing to the local community. As a strategic initiative, we also introduced sustainability advisory via our GaffneyCline™ energy advisory – marking a significant milestone that shows sustainability will remain a competitive advantage for us, as well as create value for our customers. Check out our CSO Allyson Anderson Book’s updates on this.  ✔️𝗡𝗼 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵: One of the best reasons why Baker Hughes Annual Meeting has become a key flagship event not just for us, but all our stakeholders, and especially for me – is the valuable connections and face time it offers. I deeply cherish the in-person planning, team meetings, prep work, events, meet ups, dinners as well as sight seeing that allows me to get to know my global colleagues better, in-person.  I’m so proud of all the team members - too many to tag here - who worked hard to pull off another fantastic Annual meeting experience, and I look forward to delivering #ProgressAtScale with them. #WeAreBakerHughes #SustainableEnergyDevelopment #BHAM2025 #Sustainability

  • Life can change in an instant—our founder Katie Mehnert knows this firsthand. After being rushed to the ER with unbearable pain, she faced the need for immediate surgery. This pivotal moment wasn’t just a wake-up call for her health; it exposed a deeper personal struggle—the courage to ask for help. Katie will take us on a raw, inspiring journey drawn from her experience, shedding light on the power of leaning in, asking, answering, and acting. Whether it’s seeking support, chasing opportunities, or unlocking conversations, asking is more than a request—it’s a bridge to connection, empowerment, and growth. Katie challenges us to reimagine asking as a bold, necessary step to overcome adversity, transform relationships, and thrive in every aspect of life Get your seats or bring a table of 8 of your colleagues to see Katie’s keynote on February 24-25 at this years power conference to advance women. https://lnkd.in/gM5KxvEy

Had an amazing time in Houston this Tuesday with some incredible leaders talking about building a resilient energy future—powered by people. 🌍⚡ Big thanks to the ALLY Energy team for a great event and to Katie Mehnert for keeping the energy high and focused. A standout moment: Dr. Paul G. Stoltz on grit. His words still echo: “It’s not how many times you get knocked down. It’s how much value you extract from adversity and apply to your future.” 🤯💥 This hit hard—because it’s not just about resilience, it’s about how we turn hardship into fuel for growth. Also, Cory Okeefe from Parallel nailed it with his vision on integrating grit, AI, and skills data to drive efficiency in the world of work. So much to reflect on—great conversations, insights, and inspiration! Thanks Julie Olson Huffman (she/her) and Erika Simons for the awesome discussions and introductions! What do you think? Is hardship fuel for growth? How do you leverage adversity? #ResilientFuture #EnergyLeadership #GritAndGrowth #AIinWorkforce #FutureOfWork #Leadership

Some great groups are Women and ClimateWomen of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE), and ALLY Energy. And don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself.
