Important updates from the latest consultation paper on Operational Incident and 3rd Party reporting (FCA CP 24/28) impacting UK. For UK firms with Irish entities, the introduction of a third register adds to the already substantial demands of the CBI's outsourcing and DORA registers, emphasizing the need for centralized databases to manage third-party information effectively. Firms must capture all data fields accurately and pre-code Register templates to produce jurisdiction-specific registers with ease. The consultation also highlights challenges in setting thresholds for reporting. Firms must now address specific factors such as risk appetite, impact tolerances, and operational capabilities when defining thresholds, building on the complexities seen with UK Operational Resilience (OpRes) requirements.
