“How’s that?! You never hear giving, marriage counselor and dating app together but you did hear it here with the American Limb Preservation Society.” 😉 😉 😉 #GivingTuesday2024 In this special video, hear from our Founding President David Armstrong, DPM, MD, PhD, how you can support our work at ALPS (American Limb Preservation Society) on Giving Tuesday next week and why you should. Dr. David Armstrong states: “You know, I think we are always talking about how we can pay it forward. How can we give back to the folks that have helped us? And one of these ways is Giving Tuesday […] ALPS is a not-for-profit organization that is working to bring clinicians together to end amputation in people with diabetes over the next generation. And we can do it! But we have to do it together. This is a team sport.” So help us in our mission. YOUR support today can directly fund cutting-edge research and educational initiatives that change lives! ALPS supports this message from Wounds Canada on this special awareness day! #Stoppressureinjuries Did you know? Pressure injuries have had many names over the years, including decubitus ulcers, pressure ulcers and bedsores. Since 2016, they have been called “pressure injuries” to more accurately reflect the nature of the trauma, which sometimes involves shallow or deep tissue damage that doesn’t break through the skin and form an ulcer.

We cannot believe it has already been almost 2 weeks since we opened the doors to DFCon 2024 in Anaheim! It feels just like it was just yesterday. 💙❤️ #DFCon2024 When asked, ALPS CEO Georgia Krehbiel, MBA reflected: “It was amazing to have 480 participants from 23 countries who joined us for DFCon 2024. The scientific content at DFCon was stellar and the whole event was such a good example of a conference where participants can explore cutting-edge advancements in limb preservation and interact and network among global experts and together drive innovation and improve patient outcomes. So once again, thank you to all the participants who made DFCon this year a milestone event and a truly global success. Together, we reinforce ALPS’s mission to prevent amputations worldwide. And I hope you will all save the date for DFCon 2025 where we will celebrate our 25th anniversary!” We agree. Thank you and save the date, #DFCon2025 will be held 23-25 October!

Living with a diabetic foot ulcer can be stressful and scary. It is common for patients to feel uncertain about where to start with their wound care, who they can trust, and generally feel overwhelmed by treatment decisions. We know that diabetes is the most common health factor contributing to foot wounds and the risk of amputation. With November as official #DiabetesAwarenessMonth, let’s use this opportunity to share knowledge and guidance for Patients to Act Against Preventable Lower Extremity Amputation: https://lnkd.in/dSv8RZZu One of the goals of the Limb Preservation Alliance (LPA) supported by the ALPS (American Limb Preservation Society), the Canadian Podiatric Medical Association - Podiatry Canada, the Caribbean Wounds Network, D-Foot International, and Wounds Canada, is to create awareness and preserve limbs. Please share this message among colleagues to help us in our mission. Together, we’re creating lasting change!
