Check out these frosty wonderlands! ❄️ Senior Ecologist Jeff Barna MS, PWS and Environmental Scientist Tom Jenkins have been busy in Oregon and Washington performing baseline wildlife and #habitatstudies, and despite the fog and frozen ground they were able to document native #ecology, sensitive wildlife species and rare habitats. The native habitats of interest include #shrubsteppe and #eastsidesteppe. Both sites have fascinating geologic history including thousands of years of volcanic #lavaflows and #Pleistocene climate impacts from large flooding, glaciation, and long winter conditions. With cool features like these, who could mind the cold!? This important work will help inform the feasibility of #solardevelopment and opportunities to design around sensitive natural resources. #ThisIsMyOffice

🎉🎉🎉 That's a wrap on another successful Business and the Environment Conference • Expo! This is such a special event and one we look forward to every year because of the way it gathers folks from across the environmental landscape. Even better, this year our own Allison Marshall had the privilege of moderating a career advice session with some stellar panelists like Susan Haupt of GSI Water Solutions, Inc., Rachel LovellFord of Oregon Water Resources Department, Dan McCracken of Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, and our CEO Derek Forseth. Our most sincere thanks to this group for sharing their experience and advice! We also have a big thank you to Northwest Environmental Business Council, and to each of this year’s participants, organizers and attendees! #EnvironmentalScience #STEMCareers #EnvironmentalCareers

We are excited to officially welcome Molly Hiatt who recently joined Alta as our HR Manager. When asked 'Why Alta?' here's what Molly shared: "Alta’s commitment to the environment is truly impressive, but my decision to join Alta was influenced by factors beyond their environmental impact. As a Human Resources professional, I was drawn to the company for its focus on the human side of the business. The core values highlighted on Alta’s website: "High Expectations, Work with Purpose, Determination, Quality Service and Products, and Employees Matter Most," stood out to me, particularly the last one. In many organizations, the individual employee can sometimes be overlooked, but Alta’s dedication to valuing its people deeply resonated with me. During my interview process, I had the privilege of meeting with several team members, and it was clear they were genuinely happy and engaged—this spoke volumes about the work environment and culture. The culture at Alta is unparalleled. From day one, I’ve experienced an overwhelmingly warm, kind, helpful, and supportive atmosphere. This culture of collaboration and respect flows from leadership and permeates throughout the entire organization, which I believe is a true testament to the exceptional leadership at Alta. Everyone here is dedicated, hardworking, and genuinely invested in the success of both the company and one another." Thank you for joining the team, Molly!

Josh Hudgins, GIT is a skilled geologist at Alta, and his work with #environmentalsiteassessments and #environmentalcompliance support means that sometimes the morning commute involves caribou or flying over this volcano along the Aleutian Island chain! As a subcontractor to ERG we’re proud to support the USEPA's work on #brownfield sites across Region 10 and to perform important services that help communities reach their goals. #ThisIsMyOffice
