Huge shoutout to all our vendor partners and other stakeholders who supported Team Howard’s at this very special event. 🍾 What an incredible evening at The Park Club! Earlier this month, we had the honor of introducing Jane Bertch, the brilliant author of the memoir “The French Ingredient.” From navigating Parisian skepticism to establishing a thriving cooking school in Paris, Jane’s journey is a captivating tale of entrepreneurial resilience and passion. 🎯 Meeting Jane last year during a press tour we led in Italy, Cara Stewart was inspired by her story and knew it needed to be shared. Jane’s memoir is a story about entrepreneurial triumph and a testament to determination and love for what you do. During the Q&A, Jane shared some profound insights and memorable stories. Hearing firsthand about her experiences and the challenges she overcame to make her dream a reality was a privilege. 🍷 A heartfelt thank you to The Park Club California for hosting us and making this event possible. Special shoutout to Jim Shumate, CCM, Chef Daniel Hohng, Rochelle Segobia and Katharine Eicher. Your incredible support and efforts brought this experience to life for members. 📕 And a big thank you to our strategic partner, Creative Vortex Inc., for joining us in sponsoring the event and ensuring everyone could go home with a signed copy of Jane’s book. 📸 Additionally, thanks to photographer Tony Lattimore for capturing the memorable moments of the evening. And for our attendees, let us know if you’d like any of the photos! Thank you to everyone who attended and made the evening so special. Here’s to many more inspiring events, including a new author series we are launching with Patricia Ann Gamboa. It's rare when we can say The Supreme Court of the United States and Sean Combs equally impact our work for a client, but it's been a wild year. Today, #SCOTUS upheld a crucial federal law that prohibits individuals under #domesticviolence restraining orders from possessing firearms. This landmark decision reaffirms the importance of protecting survivors from further harm. Altalunas International and our creative partner Creative Vortex Inc. are proud to support Laura's House's critical work and collaborated with Executive Director/CEO Margaret Bayston to issue this statement: “The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the federal law barring firearm possession by individuals under domestic violence restraining orders is a monumental step in ensuring the safety and protection of survivors. Every day, we are reminded of the critical importance of believing victims and survivors of domestic violence and taking decisive action to prevent them from being further victimized. For 30 years, Laura’s House has been at the forefront of providing essential services and support to survivors in Orange County. The Supreme Court’s decision underscores the need for comprehensive measures to protect the most vulnerable. We urge community leaders, policymakers, and the public to recognize the ongoing crisis of domestic violence and to support local organizations like Laura’s House in their efforts to provide safety, resources, and hope to survivors. This decision is a testament to the power of advocacy and the importance of upholding laws that safeguard those at risk. We must continue to listen to victims the first time they speak up and respond effectively and compassionately to their needs to prevent further harm. In adopting their stance, the Supreme Court affirms that we cannot silence victims. Their courage to share their experiences galvanizes many in our community to seek help and break the silence. Every time a prominent domestic violence case trends, we see a significant increase in calls to our 24/7 domestic violence hotline and a rise in shelter residency. Just recently, we fielded a 20% increase in calls to our 24/7 domestic violence hotline and a 20% rise in shelter residency since video footage surfaced showing Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly physically assaulting his former partner Cassie Ventura and the subsequent tide of other domestic violence and human trafficking allegations from other women. When survivors like Ventura are believed and vindicated, and the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, affirms the experiences of domestic violence victims, we know that our efforts are making a difference for those who need us at the most vulnerable times in their lives. We will not stop working to protect them, amplify their voices, change laws, and shift attitudes to help create a world free from domestic violence.” #media: Contact Cara Stewart with inquiries. #breakingnews #crisiscommunications Kyle Houlton, CFRE Darya M. Oakley B. is one of those rare breeds who relish the opportunity to go above and beyond, bringing creativity and their A-game to every experience. This is just one of the reasons she excels as a nonprofit marketing director, and EXP is an innovator helping young people gain experience, unlock doors and build the confidence they need to succeed in school, career and life. #clientlove #nonprofitmarketing #kudos
I'm a nonprofit marketing director. OF COURSE, I'd throw on the bling-est jacket to sell opportunity drawing LED candles at the gala myself! ✨🕯️✨ The candles were my idea. Since our gala was outdoors, the more candles you have, the brighter your table gets! People got a little competitive there...just as I planned. /maniacal laughs/ 😈 For the first time in 5 years, I actually had to be in front of people the entire evening instead of running behind the scenes and hiding in the AV booth. I had to put on makeup and lashes and everything! So in a way, I cosplayed a "cigarette girl" for work and had a grand time! 😜 Photo: Taso Papadakis Jacket idea: Marcie Taylor #nonprofit #nonprofitlife
