About us

Always Earth Friendly was formed to help our clients save money on their energy costs and provide water saving systems. Our T5 retrofit light adapter saves 40% to 70% on lighting energy costs and burns at only 18 watts. This adapter can be used in existing fluorescent light fixtures and LEED points are given for our adapter saving in energy and mercury content.

  • LED Lighting Myths vs Facts Despite the growing popularity and widespread adoption of LED lighting, there are still many misconceptions and misunderstandings about this technology, Myth 1: LED lights are too expensive Fact: while LED lights may have a higher upfront cost compared to traditional lighting options, they are more cost effective in the long run due to their energy efficiency and longer lifespan. The savings on energy bills and reduced replacement costs often offset the initial investment within a relatively short period. Myth 2: LED lights are not bright enough. Fact: modern LED lights are available in a wide range of brightness levels, measured in lumens, and can provide equivalent or even superior brightness compared to traditional lighting sources. It's essential to choose the appropriate lumen output for each application to ensure adequate illumination.   Myth 3: LED lights have a cold, bluish color. Fact: LED lights come in a variety of color temperatures, ranging from warm white (2700K-3000K) to cool white (4000K-5600K) and beyond. Users can choose the color temperature that best suits their preferences and the intended atmosphere of the space. Myth 4: LED lights flicker and cause headaches. Fact: high quality LED lights with proper drivers and circuitry do not flicker or cause headaches. Flicker is more commonly associated with older, low quality, or incompatible dimming systems and with fluorescent lights. Choosing reputable LED products and ensuring compatibility with dimming controls can eliminate any potential flickering issues. Myth 5: LED lights are not suitable for outdoor use. Fact: many LED lighting products are specifically designed for outdoor use, with features such as waterproofing, dust resistance, and heat dissipation. These outdoor-rated LED lights are built to withstand harsh weather conditions and provide reliable, energy-efficient illumination for exterior spaces. Myth 6: LED lights contain hazardous materials. Fact: unlike some traditional lighting sources such as fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL’s), LED lights do not contain mercury or other hazardous materials. This makes LED lights safer to handle and dispose of, reducing potential environmental and health risks. Myth 7: LED lights are not effective for color critical applications. Fact: LED lights with high color rendering index (CRI) ratings typically 90 or above, can provide excellent color accuracy and rendering, making them suitable for color-critical applications such as art galleries, photography studios, and retail displays. • #Do you wonder how lighting affects your employee’s mood?   The color temperature of light is measured in Kelvin (K), and it can have a range of effects on mood, energy levels, and overall productivity in the workplace. Here's a breakdown of the different Kelvin ranges and how they might impact employees:   Warm Light (2,000K to 3,000K): Description: This range produces a warm, yellowish light, similar to incandescent bulbs. Effect on Employees: Warm light creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. It's great for lounge areas, break rooms, or any space where you want people to feel comfortable and at ease. However, it might not be stimulating enough for tasks that require alertness and concentration.   Neutral Light (3,100K to 4,500K): Description: This is a more balanced, white light that strikes a middle ground between warm and cool tones. Effect on Employees: Neutral light is generally good for general workspaces as it is bright enough to enhance alertness and reduce eye strain but doesn't have the harshness that some cooler lights can have. It's conducive to various types of work, including reading, meeting, and computer tasks.   Cool Light (4,600K to 6,500K): Description: This range includes daylight equivalents, with a blueish-white light. Effect on Employees: Cool light is energizing and is believed to increase productivity and help maintain focus, particularly helpful during the morning and midday. It's ideal for environments where detail-oriented tasks or high levels of concentration are required, such as design studios, printing business, task lighting, technical drawing areas.   Daylight (6,500K and above): Description: Mimics natural daylight and is generally very bright and crisp. Effect on Employees: This lighting is very stimulating and can help enhance mood and energy levels, which is particularly useful during the winter months or in settings without natural light. However, it can also be too harsh if used excessively, possibly leading to discomfort or glare.   Understanding these different lighting temperatures can help in planning the lighting design of a workspace to improve comfort and productivity. https://lnkd.in/e2BeHVsf
