🌍 Exciting Update from SETAC Europe 26th LCA Symposium! 🌍 👉 We are thrilled to share that David Wilde, a Senior Researcher at Leitat Technological Center and a dedicated member of the AM4BAT project, presented a poster highlighting early Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) results for the AM4BAT project in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 21st October 2024. 🔋 The AM4BAT project focuses on developing all-solid-state batteries through 3D printing, addressing the growing need for next-generation lithium-ion batteries that deliver higher energy and power densities at a lower cost. By leveraging additive manufacturing technologies, the project aims to fabricate high-performance 3D lithium-ion batteries, targeting an impressive energy density of 400 Wh/kg for electric vehicles. 🔍 This innovative approach is not just about performance; it's about creating a sustainable European battery manufacturing value chain that supports the EU’s ambitions for electric mobility. With objectives that include developing an anode-free solid-state battery capable of quick charging and extended life cycles, AM4BAT is poised to make significant contributions to the future of sustainable energy. 🏭 David's insights during the symposium underscored the critical role of LCA in understanding the environmental impacts of battery production, paving the way for more sustainable practices in the industry.
