Neuner, Jr. of NeunerPate has been nominated to serve as Chair of the Fellows for the next fiscal year. Mario L. Barnes, University of California, Irvine Chancellor’s Professor of Law, has been nominated to serve as the Secretary of the Fellows.

The ABF is excited to announce its 2024-25 Visiting Scholars cohort to our research community! Aaron Z. Pitluck is writing an interdisciplinary book describing how investment bankers, Shariah scholars, and the state are co-producing Islamic banking and finance in Malaysia. Michelle Brown is working on her book, Streaming Justice: Movements, Media, and the Problem of Crime, which argues that the problem of crime and the crisis of the criminal legal system are inseparable from a media universe with intensified and conflicting claims for narrative control.

Last week, ABF Research Professor Traci Burch moderated the ABF Fellows #CLE Program, titled "Challenges to Democracy in 2024". Traci Burch, Ray Block, Jr. (Northwestern University), Alexandra Filindra (University of Chicago Illinois), and Brandon Jones (Southern Poverty Law Center; SPLC Action Fund) discussed their latest work on #AccessToJustice issues, covering topics ranging from political violence against women and people of color in office, to information decay and the spread of misinformation.
