AFS WI is continually seeking ways to support the next generation of metal casters. We are proud to be sponsoring TWO students for the Western Michigan University Short Course in Metal Casting (College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering), this June 24 - 28. This one-week course is geared towards students grades 9-12, and the AFS WI sponsorship will cover the cost of the course, along with room and board. This comprehensive course will cover the following topics: ▶️ The history of metal casting. ▶️ Current trends in our industry. ▶️ The interrelationship between manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, marketing & sales of castings. ▶️ The application of computers in metal casting. ▶️ The application of mathematics & science in metal casting. ▶️ Career opportunities (AFS/NADCA/FEF) in the metal casting industry.
