📰 NEWS: The AFS Research Board has approved additional funding for research project 22-23#01: Refining Austenite in Gray Irons project (22-23#01b). This research is being done by Dr. Jingjing Qing (Georgia Southern University) and project collaborators including AFS Corporate Members Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company, Miller and Co., Elkem Silicon Products, and Caterpillar Inc. The additional funding will allow Dr. Qing to investigate the effect of additional inoculants, including Al, Zr, Ba, Mg and Mn on austenite grain size and fatigue properties of Cast Iron.
