Storytelling to build a sustainable and resilient future for generations to come.

About us

American Resilience Project (ARP) is a nonprofit that makes films and media tools to influence public policy, ignite civic action, and drive investments toward environmental and social security. ARP envisions a world where everyone enjoys abundant sustainable resources, environmental security, prosperous local economies, and healthy civic institutions. To this end, we tell stories that unite people across divides and inspire action to overcome environmental, economic, and social challenges. In addition to its independent work, ARP collaborates with value-aligned organizations to produce commissioned work that compellingly shares your impact story and helps you influence change. Reach out if you’d like to explore working with ARP.

  • As the U.S. embarks on one of the most transformative clean energy transitions in history, the success of policies like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) has created nearly 150,000 new clean energy jobs in 2023 alone. From electric vehicle production to renewable energy infrastructure, these jobs aren’t just reshaping our economy—they’re empowering communities and fueling long-term growth. 💼🔋 But with a new political landscape on the horizon, there’s concern about maintaining the federal support that has driven this incredible momentum. As we prepare for the launch of our new docuseries, Clean Economy NOW, in partnership with E2 and Bob Keefe, we’re digging deep into how these policies are uplifting both people and the economy. The future of clean energy jobs is bright, but it’s up to us to safeguard that future. Join the conversation and help advocate for the policies that power our economy and our planet! 🌱🔧 Comment below if you'd like to learn more about the project and get involed 👇 #cleanenergyjobs #energytransitions #greenjobs #IRA #BIL #climatepolicy

  • How many birds did you hear chirpping this morning? It might sound like a silly question but one that jars us awake to the harsh reality of climate change. We've lost nearly 3 billion birds accross North America since 1970 and this lose will continue to worsen if we don't take action. Taking action can mean having conversations around climate change with those around you and asking the question, "How many birds did you hear chirpping this morning?," can be a helpful one. ARP exists because we have a significant #communication problem when it comes to environmental matters. We live in a polarized time where it can be challenging to engage in a conversation around climate change because people's walls often come up right away. Grounding the conversation around our tangible day to day experences can ease the tension. The Honorable Sharon Burke suggests that we bring the topic closer to people's homes if we want to have a more productive conversation about #climate change. While serving at the Pentagon from 2010 to 2014, Assistant Secretary Burke helped lead the military's ongoing efforts to reduce its dependence on petroleum. She is now the founder and president of Ecospherics, a company focused on how a changing natural environment is shaping human #security and how societies in turn are shaping the #environment. You can listen to our podcast episode with Sharon Burke or watch our film The Burden, in which we speak to her and other experts about the risks posed by the US military's dependence on #fossilfuels. • Climate change and social inequality are inextricably linked. As we enter 2025, ARP is committed to addressing both by spotlighting solutions that protect vulnerable communities and build resilience. Our films, from Tidewater to Farm Free or Die, share stories of real communities overcoming climate challenges and highlight how policies can foster social equity. Together, we can create lasting change. As we're committed to telling the resilience stories that matter most in the new year, we rely on our community for support. • 🌱 Thinking of how you can be part of the energy transition? Start with your home. That’s the simple yet powerful advice from Wahleah Johns, Director of the Indian Energy Office at the U.S. Department of Energy, during her appearance on the American Resilience Podcast. As someone who grew up on the Navajo Nation, Wahleah knows the importance of energy security in rural and tribal communities. She shared a fundamental truth: the path to a cleaner, sustainable energy future begins at home. By investing in solar panels, battery storage, or energy-efficient appliances, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also empower our communities to lead in the energy transition. From individual households to schools and communities, these steps create momentum toward larger, impactful changes. With the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) offering incentives for home energy upgrades, this is the time to act. Whether it's making your home more energy-efficient or advocating for renewable energy in your community, we all have a role to play in this transition. Have you started investing in renewable energy solutions for your home, workplace and community? If so, what has been the biggest gain for you in making that transition? https://lnkd.in/d6hBMrcS

  • As we navigate climate uncertainties, regenerative agriculture offers a path toward resilience. By restoring soil health, reducing carbon footprints, and boosting biodiversity, these practices protect both farmers and food security. Our film Farm Free or Die highlights the transformative power of regenerative agriculture and the policies needed to support its growth. Watch and join us in advocating for a future where farming regenerates the land, rather than depletes it. 🎥 Watch Farm Free or Die now 👇 https://lnkd.in/ecaa5SGp #RegenerativeAgriculture #FoodSecurity #SustainableFarming #ClimateAction #SoilHealth
