About us

For more than 75 years, American Civic Association is an active non-profit organization that continuously helps immigrants and refugees to start a new life in the community while preserving their cultural and ethnic diversity. Mayra Garcia (the CEO & Director) along with her team of experts at American Civic Association work meticulously to provide assistance in maneuvering through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) forms and procedures like Affidavits Support, Naturalization Assistance, Petitions for Alien Relatives, Fiancé(e) Petitions, Permanent Resident (green card) issues & Reentry Permits, Consul & Visa information, USCIS and US Passport and Photos, Foreign Pension Assistance & Translation and Interpreter Assistance. The American Civic Association also assists newly arrived refugees with core services such as - Clean, affordable and safe housing, Aiding with foodstuffs upon arrival, Providing clothing and toiletries, Facilitating medical treatment, Assisting families with school registration & Community Orientation. The American Civic Association also offers many other free services such as Citizenship classes, ESL and other language classes, a Multicultural Girls Scouts troop, connections to health services and tax preparation. Additionally, throughout the year we host many fun-filled events including each month's First Friday event in which a region or culture of the world is chosen and celebrated, the city-wide famous Garlic Festival, the All Nations parade, and countless more!
