Above and Beyond! One of the challenges of manufacturing instrumentation for use in hazardous areas is having a user interface that is both easy to use and safe. Keypads for use in explosion-proof enclosures are expensive with a limited number of options. Chris and Nikki worked together to design a new type of optical keypad that isolates the electrically active components within the enclosure yet provides a tactile feedback response to the user. Because of the novelty of this invention, a patent application has been filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Congratulations and Thank You to Chris and Nikki!
