The Amgen Biotech Experience bridges the gap between school and real-life biosciences by providing classrooms with resources and research-grade lab equipment. Through its 35-year history, ABE has reached over 1 million students, each with their own story, many of which include a career in science. Hear how ABE helped spark inspiration for a career from previous ABE students below and learn more about how you can benefit from the program at: https://bit.ly/ABE2023

#ScienceMadePossible Amgen Foundation

Inspiring Future Scientists and Problem-Solvers by Getting All Hands on Deck! 🧬 🔬 "I carried out a genetic engineering experiment without even being a real researcher!" said Yamagata Prefecture high schooler Rion, who’s just had the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) – an innovative science education program that builds bridges between school and real-life biosciences. Amgen Foundation, in partnership with the The University of Tokyo( #UTokyo ), has been bringing the excitement of scientific discovery to classrooms in Japan through ABE since 2020. So far, over 530 students from 27 participating high schools have gotten hands-on! How exactly? #UTokyo researchers empower teachers in bringing biotechnology into their classrooms by guiding them through the background science and lab procedures. A complete set of research grade lab equipment and supplies is also made available to students at zero cost, allowing them to experience cutting-edge biotech first-hand. Independent evaluation found that students exposed to ABE have increased interest and confidence in doing science and biotech. Globally, over one million students across countries have been ignited with the possibilities! According to Rion’s classmate Luna, "Through ABE, I realized that a career in research is a very cool idea!" 💡 We agree with Luna 💯 percent! How about you? #AmgenBiotechExperience #STEMEducation
