The CTO's at MGM/United/American/KLM, banks, supermarkets let a third party AV/Malware/IDS vendor (CrowdStrike) make kernel level changes to their Windows systems without testing it themselves.They could easily dockerize their frontends or use a Linux thin client. #Shapeways is in Chapter 7 bankruptcy, I saw this coming since September 29,2021 the day they IPO'd and they raised just under 90 million dollars. We had a party where Ryan Seacrest does the New Years broadcast from, it was a colossal waste of money. When I was there I had to fight to buy hard drives for our failing infrastructure and yet they bought us hats, Northface jackets , Otto tee shirts and yet our infrastructure was old and failing.Warren Buffett buys into management, he would never invest in a SPAC or Shapeways. This management team was the weakest I have ever seen my entire career. Between, the outright foolishness, to the nepotism, to the mismanagement of funds, buying insolvent companies, hiring dozens of people without knowing what they would work on with exorbitant salaries , to the idiocy of OTTO. Shapeways had impressive tech and the marketplace, but they refused to rein in spending, the term drunken sailor applies.
