Animal Humane Society’s President and CEO Janelle Dixon is retiring today after 33 years with the organization. Janelle reflects with Minnesota Women's Press on her decades working with shelter animals. Janelle shares: "Nine out of ten animals that come into our shelters find loving homes. Organizations like Animal Humane Society worked to shift perceptions of shelter animals and help people better understand the complexity of managing companion animal populations. Over time, incremental progress led to monumental changes." ahs.mn/4fQxESZ Minnesota Women's Press

Animal Humane Society’s President and CEO Janelle Dixon is retiring today after 33 years with the organization. To our donors and animal-loving community, Janelle shares: “Words cannot capture how grateful I am to share this community with you. When I look back on my time at AHS, your steadfast and remarkable support is among the things that shines the brightest. We’ve had many monumental wins over the years, from facilitating a merger with other animal welfare organizations to expanding our services for high-needs animals. We’ve overcome challenges, including adapting to a pandemic and responding to a wide variety of humane investigations. Through it all, you’ve been there. You’ve supported low-cost services for pet parents in need, made it possible for more animals to find second chances, and helped keep families whole.” Thank you, Janelle, for making the world a better place for animals and the people who love them for years to come.
