Canopy Apartments is nestled between a commercial corridor and an established neighborhood of single-family homes in Shoreline, Washington. Inspired by the adjacent tree-lined neighborhood, the design incorporates abundant green space, creating a #midrise oasis for its residents. This #LEED Platinum project integrates both water- and energy-efficient measures and utilizes sustainably sourced materials throughout the building. Canopy offers 476 apartments, including 96 affordable units, within a seven-story building.

AM architect and studio co-leader Mariah Kiersey is featured in Authority Magazine's Leading With Heart series on successful and authentic #femaleleaders. In the interview, Mariah shares stories from her career—successes, challenges, and lessons learned along the way. “That was a hard place to be in, but navigating that situation required confidence and a sense of humor, and I learned how to command respect by fully embracing my role as the architect.” Read the interview here: https://lnkd.in/gy7wEWDF

Centrally located in downtown Portland, Colliers’ new office space is an elevated workplace with hospitality-like amenities to attract employees back to the city center. To deliver the freshness and beauty that international brokerage firm Colliers envisioned for their new office, we infused the space with minimalist charm through soft curves and organic forms. Colliers’ trademark blue is incorporated in the natural color palette to enhance the brand experience. #interiordesign #workplacedesign 📸: Shelsi Lundquist

In what was once an empty field, The Ackerly at Reed’s Crossing is catalyzing the growth of a new neighborhood. Offering #independentliving, #assistedliving, and memory care, this community is designed to provide residents with opportunities to connect with each other and their neighborhood. Residents and their families can gather in places shared with their neighbors, like the bocce ball court, walking paths, meditation labyrinth, and outdoor eating areas. The site is also connected to the Reed’s Crossing Wellness Center by a pedestrian path. #seniorliving #activeadult #architecture 📸: Shelsi Lindquist

Despite The Standard’s physical presence as the biggest #studenthousing project in Seattle’s University District, our partnership with developer Landmark Properties, Inc. felt personal. By sharing our cultural, demographic, and regional knowledge, we helped our client make competitive design decisions. Aesthetically, vibrant colors and patterns spark a sense of liveliness; natural textural elements evocative of the Pacific Northwest’s marine ecosystems, lush forests, and mountain ranges, like stone and exposed timber, are dynamically juxtaposed with more polished, refined materials. 📸: Moris Moreno

Mason & Main—located in Seattle's Yesler Terrace neighborhood—embraces the context of its location as an inclusive gathering place for people of all backgrounds. As a bifurcated mass, Mason & Main offers two destinations to explore and enjoy. Addressing their urban surroundings, each building leverages well-designed exterior spaces to differentiate and elevate the pedestrian experience along each structure. #multifamilyhousing #architecture 📸: Moris Moreno

A five-minute walk from Purdue University’s campus, Subtext West Lafayette is an elevated archetype of #studenthousing deep in the heart of America’s heartland. Simultaneously fun and sophisticated, the design recasts the traditional student housing project to look and feel like a refined young professional property. 📸: Shelsi Lindquist

How did a group of architects end up singing (and rapping) in the pursuit of ending homelessness? It all started with a shared vision between Central City Concern and Ankrom Moisan. Hear the origin story of our jAM fundraising event here: https://lnkd.in/gYPMXqeg “CCC is much more than a client to us—they’re a partner. We know the work that they do is invaluable, and we want to do as much as we can to continue to support that mission." —Jenna Mogstad, Ankrom Moisan Designer "Given that AM is made up of remarkably creative people, it didn’t surprise us that they found a way to support our fundraising with the jAM event." —Maya Edelstein, CCC Interim Director of Development If you want to help CCC reach their goal of providing services that support struggling individuals throughout Portland, donations can be made through Willamette Week’s Give!Guide, here, until December 31st: https://lnkd.in/gbtzCxWM *Music video performed and directed by Amanda Lunger, LFA for the 2024 jAM event

These AMers spent their Sunday decorating a tree for J+J Flooring's Helping Hands program—with the goal to brighten the holidays for children and families spending it in a pediatric hospital. Helping Hands trees are put on display in the hospital for children to peruse and select their favorite to decorate their hospital room. This year our tree was donated to Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Here's a peek at the trees on display during the Tree Delivery Celebration at Doernbecher this past week.
