DPW continues to monitor the weather to prepare for possible precipitation later today and Monday. Crews from our Bureau of Highways will be patrolling the roads today and through the night to handle any frozen precipitation or freezing. Main roads and some local roads will be pretreated starting Saturday and crews will work around the clock to ensure residents have safe road conditions. If possible, avoid traveling during a snowstorm, watch for slippery surfaces and icy conditions and report any hazards. https://lnkd.in/eRi2HUHg. #DPWandYOU

DPW holds monthly events called Walkaround Wednesdays, where Director Karen Henry and Assistant Director Erin Dey meet employees to highlight the important work they do to improve the lives of our residents. In 2024, that meant visiting everywhere from a water reclamation facility and a stream restoration site to road surfacing and utility marking operations. #DPWandYOU

One lane of Riva Road in Annapolis will be closed from about 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. December 23 or 30. This closure is for asphalt patching by a BGE contractor, which will be in the westbound travel lane near 2575 Riva Road just east of Harry S Truman Parkway. This must be completed during the day, since nighttime temperatures are not favorable for asphalt work during winter months. Signs will be in place to guide motorists through the area during the closure.
