Join Aptima at the Conference on Data Analysis (CoDA) 2025! Aptima’s Louis Jorel Penafiel will be presenting a poster on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Santa Fe, NM, showcasing groundbreaking work on Compound AI (CAI) architectures for national security applications. This research, supported by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) advances AI-driven cross-disciplinary knowledge synthesis, secure AI deployment, and human-AI collaboration. The talk highlights key initiatives: 🔹 BridgeScience – Integrates large language models (GPT-4, LLaMA-3), multimodal foundation models, and knowledge graphs with agentic AI workflows to support material science, AI, and nuclear nonproliferation. 🔹 BioSage – Expands CAI to biosecurity using a multi-agent architecture with specialized translator and reasoning agents. 🔹 ART-FM – A cloud-enabled testbed for adversarial AI evaluation, vulnerability assessment, and causal discovery. 🔹 EMHAT – A methodology for assessing human-AI team performance in operational settings. Key innovations include: ✅ CAI architecture combining retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge graphs, LLMs, and multimodal models. ✅ Specialized AI agents for knowledge synthesis and reasoning. ✅ Trustworthy AI evaluation for robust and secure deployment. ✅ Human-AI performance assessment to optimize mission-critical collaboration. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore how AI can accelerate threat detection, enhance intelligence gathering, and ensure trustworthy deployment in high-stakes environments! #AI #DataAnalysis #MachineLearning #NationalSecurity #KnowledgeSynthesis #AITrustworthiness #HumanAICollaboration #Aptima #CoDA2025 #HumanCenteredEngineering

  • The primary role of Operations Security (OPSEC) planners is to identify sensitive information considered critical within an organization, actively protect it from potential adversaries, and develop strategies (countermeasures) to prevent those adversaries from accessing that information “The OPSHIELD prototype not only demonstrated how large language models can be used to reduce the amount of time currently required by planners to manually parse publicly available information, but effectively demonstrated zero-shot discovery of OPSEC activity patterns in scenarios it hadn’t previously encountered.” --Lauren Fortier, Aptima’s OPSHIELD Project Manager Aptima's LLM-based OPSHIELD system is redefining how we safeguard military operations by efficiently identifying and mitigating risks from publicly available data. • Aptima was proud to be represented at the 2025 NASA Human Research Program Investigators’ Workshop (#IWS25) by our own Samantha Emerson! Samantha had the opportunity to engage with experts exploring #AI applications for Earth-independent missions, #HumanAITeaming, and cutting-edge #neuro and #physiological monitoring for #spaceflight. As Aptima continues to advance human performance and AI-driven solutions, we’re excited to collaborate with this innovative community. Check out Samantha’s insights below! #Innovation #SpaceTech #NASA #Aptima #HumanCenteredEngineering

It was a pleasure to represent Aptima and connect with all the fantastic folks at the 2025 NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Human Research Program Investigators' Workshop (#IWS25) in the beautiful (well maybe "moody" is a better word) #Galveston, #TX. I had a lovely time learning about the variety of #AI applications being used to advance Earth-independent missions, the key focus on #HumanAITeaming, and the #research being conducted on non-intrusive #neuro and #physiological monitoring for #spaceflight. Looking forward to collaborating more with this innovative community!
