  • Back in 2020 when Aquagga was just getting started, we were thrilled to successfully treat 1/20th of a gallon of water using the HALT process, in a painstaking process of repeatedly loading small samples into a batch reactor. It wasn't much, but it validated the concept and the vision, and it got us on our way. This year, we treated nearly 2,000 gallons of very concentrated, PFAS-rich water leveraging the HALT process. As our initial vision gradually becomes a reality, we look forward to years when we can talk about treating millions of gallons of PFAS-rich water, destroying kilograms of PFAS in the process. At the end of 2024, we've been reflecting on the tremendous privilege that we have in being entrusted by so many stakeholders to bring the HALT technology to fruition. We have the benefit of standing on hundreds if not thousands of shoulders: scientists, inventors, community groups, investors, advocates, mentors, advisors, customers, government agencies, and very understanding friends and family. All of us are united in a desire to safeguard our communities from toxic chemicals, and we hope that our collective efforts will leave a lasting, positive impact for all. Here's to many more years of facilitating the "simple" act of chemically converting organic fluorine to inorganic fluoride. 🥳🎉

This year has been an exciting one for Aquagga, filled with major milestones in our pilot demonstrations! We successfully executed three projects, including a groundbreaking industrial pilot with 3M and a PFAS destruction project in California. We also demonstrated HALT’s capability to treat firefighting foam (AFFF), achieving an impressive >99.99% destruction efficiency. 👏 These efforts not only further validated our hydrothermal alkaline treatment (HALT) technology but also provided valuable insights to enhance future field operations. As we look ahead to 2025, we’re gearing up to scale our efforts and take on even bigger challenges in PFAS destruction! 📈 #PFAS #destruction #cleantech #environment #technology #endingpfas

  • 2024 Product Development Team Highlights 🛠️ This year has been full of exciting progress for the Product Development team! We welcomed Josh Arvin, our talented new Mechanical Engineer, whose expertise has significantly expanded our capabilities and played a key role in the refinement and successful completion of our second Steed system, Aurora. 🥳 Through rigorous testing, we’ve upgraded the Human-Machine Interface (HMI), enabling fully remote operation and monitoring of the Steed system. Additionally, we redesigned the Steed’s high-pressure system, improving both throughput and reliability. ✅ As we look toward 2025, our focus has shifted to the design of the Colt series, a compact yet powerful system capable of processing one gallon per hour. We’re excited to build on this year’s progress as we refine the Steed series, advance the Colt, and begin development of our Stampede system next year! 👏 #PFAS #destruction #cleantech #environment #technology #endingpfas

  • 2024 Research & Development Team Highlights 🔬 This year, we had the privilege of welcoming Annie Heble as a Research Scientist, Juliet Veskova as a Laboratory Technician, and Drew Arce as a Research Assistant! Their contributions have significantly accelerated our PFAS sensing capabilities and advanced our research efforts with the National Science Foundation. 👏 We have been hard at work optimizing HALT for various PFAS analytes and evaluating advanced reactor designs. This included building and testing reactors made from different alloys, performing accelerated lifecycle tests informed by ICP-MS analysis, and leveraging the salty nature of our process to enhance PFAS destruction. We've also evaluated complex real-world effluent chemistries, such as IXR and foam fractionate, to push the boundaries of HALT’s potential. 🔎 Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to further explore capabilities unlocked by our new reactor designs. We will continue to learn how HALT can be further optimized through tailoring conditions for specific PFAS analytes and background water chemistries. 🧪 #PFAS #destruction #cleantech #environment #technology #endingpfas
