It's the first day of #pride month, and one of our newest members, Ashley, is asking us to mobilize! “I have gender dysphoria and live my life as a woman in a men’s prison. I have for 7 or 8 years been trying to get facial hair removal. Having to shave my face every 3 days, even being on HRT, is messing with my already fragile mental health. Protestor Civil Rights Clinic Registration The Legal Aid Society's Cop Accountability Project is hosting an in-person know your rights training and pro se clinic on at our Manhattan offices for those arrested and brutalized by the NYPD at one of the student protests in May 2024. We will explain the civil rights lawsuit and Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) complaint processes and assist students in filing out necessary paperwork to protect their rights and legal claims, as well as connecting interested students with civil rights attorneys. This clinic will be informational only, we will not be providing individual representation or individual legal advice. Due to capacity constraints, please only register if you are sure you can attend.
